I don't complete many games and all their DLC. But I did for this one. Awesome game.

Played half this game not on steam and copied over my save.

Interesting and engaging characters with an alright story, held back by poor gameplay.
Not worth the time to play, unfortunately.

Robocraft is not as good as it was before the loot boxes, but it is still fun and worth giving a try.

Longhand
...Is that even a term?
Robocraft is a game that has its major flaw definitively displayed to the player the first time they log in each day (loot boxes) and the game has undeniably lost a large amount of the charm that made it what it was back in the good old days, when it was one of my favourites.
When the tech tree still existed and healers were worshipped, as well as the fastest to level up.
When there were pilot seats and megabot vs standard when there were heavy blocks and helium.
When blocks had tiers and electroplates were worth using, when radars still existed as a non-super item (really what the hell, nobody ever used the radar and the FJ went and made it a module and decreased its usefulness).

Nowdays, healers don't do jack, death isn't permanant and even in the modes were it is, self-healing is a thing, oh and did I mention loot box progression? It's incredibly frustrating to see this happen to a game I used to love so much, it's just not the same.

Having said all that, Robocraft is still moving forward in other areas (not that it redeems what they've done).
We now have sprinter legs, propellors, graphics changes, paints, an array of new weapons, whacky thruster-enabled wings, they reintroduced mega blocks, now light blocks and swapped the never used radar for a more expensive and more useless radar.

Recently they also added a community robot sharing store, as fun as it is to see people purchase what you made, I despise the store, as well as that friggin bodybuilder update. Now 80% of the game is just waiting on parts, once upon a time you actually had to build your robot and if you won, it was because you were the better shooter and builder. You got an immense feeling satisfaction whenever one of your original designs outperformed the opponents. Now it's just... the building aspect can be completely avoided

So after all that you're probably wondering, "why the hell is this guy recommending this game?"
My answer to that is: even with all the bad, and even though it's not as good as it was, it's still a fun, albeit grindy, game.
