Early Access Review
Starpoint Gemini 2(Just Released into Beta) is exactly what you want from this genre.

Compared to other space games in its genre, this game has more of an arcade style of gameplay. If you are expecting the depth and simulation of something such as the X-Universe then you will probably want to avoid this game. However if you want to just fly around in a beautiful world, and combat enemies with responsive and fuild controls then this game is for you.

The ship designs are very beautiful and unique. The enviornments are very good and beautiful to look at as you go through the game.

There are many different factions within the game that will end up fighting each other. As well as many you can gain or lose rep with that will effect your standing with them.

The controls are easy to understand and reponsive.

Combat can be fought in several ways, you can hire a crew to improve stats of your ship such as accuracy, dodge, shields, etc. However you can also tell the gunner to shoot for you, so either you can fly and have the A.I. shoot for you or you can Shoot and fly yourself. This provides a nice change of pace for when you are wanting the A.I. to focus on defense or attack while you just maneuver the ship.

Betrayer attempts to do a lot, but rarely does it go beyond anything other then a good game.

The story itself is okay, almost a noir style set during a time period with mustkets, indians, and spainards. It does provide you with a decent mystery that keeps you giong through the motions.

The gameplay is very generic, especially at first. However it is still fun, it definitely could have been improved upon, such as the bow feels rather anti-climactic. The way you discover clues is okay, you basically uncover parts of a story an then have to go find the rest of the story by uncovering secrets such as a body on the ground, or talking to people.

The eviornments themselves are very atmospheric and very enjoyable.

A.I. is basic, there are times when they can be very challenging especially when you start to encounter different enemies.

All in all a game that could have done a lot more with what it had. However that being said it is worth a playthrough. Check out my playthrough on youtube for an idea of what to expect.

Planetside 2 is a game plagued by the "pay 2 win" argument, when in reality its not. I have played over 500 hours of this game without buying a single thing and as long as you are decent at either driving vehicles, air gameplay, and/or infantry combat you will enjoy this game.

Let us begin with the basic argument, everything in this game can be earned as you play by gaining Certification Ponts. These points allow you to unlock equipment, guns, etc. They are also not that hard to gain if you just play. Get into a platoon or a group using the social tab and just start fighitng with them. You will see the cert points pile on. The only thing you have to pay for is cosmetics. That is the only thing you can not get.

On to the weapons, another reason as to why this argument is not true. Is that the starter weapons are actually really, really good. Most starter weapons are basically the best weapons in the game. It is why you will find a lot of high ranked players(including myself) that will still use starter weapons. The extra weapons usually open up differnet or specific styles of play.

Now lets look at gameplay, the gameplay is fun. Expect to fight on large scale battles, unless you like the smaller battles that will be dispersed throughout the game. Basically you have three factions fighting a massive tug-of-war over a large map. You have zones you need to capture, that will allow you to capture other zones.

The game currently has three continents with different enviornments such as Esamir(Winter) Indar(Desert/Plains), and Amerish(Grasslands/Mountans).

The biggest cons of this game are by far population balance, at times(especailly during alerts) you will find a huge difference in population. The second woudl be performance, while there have been recent updates to performance and it is definitely way better. There are still some things that can and are being done.

All in all if you enjoy massive fights with tanks, air, and infantry then this game will provide you with that.

A fun and addicting 4X strategy game. If you are a fan of Sword of the Stars, Sins of a Solar Empire, or Civlization. This is a game you might enjoy.
