Ghost in the shell meets soviet number stations.
The perfect modernisation of Resi 1 puzzles and gameplay, with an incredible story and world to explore.

If I had one more inventory slot this game would be flawless

and remember,

Early Access Review
This is the single best rhythm game I've ever played.
I found the original flash demo when i was in secondary school and would play it once a year or so and it was fun every time. I couldn't wait for the full game. I've since graduated uni and the wait is finally over.

This game is perfect.
The music is incredible, touching on so many genres and styles but always fitting and just constantly slapping.
The visuals are flawless, with each level feeling incredibly distinct and stylish.
The game play is immaculate, with such a simple idea used and built upon in so many unpredictable new ways (not to mention a few surprises to distract you. Including the coolest use of your desktop I've ever seen in a game)
The game has a really great selection of levels already available and the devs are STILL adding more through early access!
And then on top of all that they threw in a level editor and workshop support to make the levels literally unlimited.

Just buy this game. Its such a good time i was grinning through the entire play-through of the levels currently out.
The single downside is that i can't currently buy the OST as I NEED these songs.

Fatum Betula is a pretty perfect experience. Explore some small worlds with strange characters, solve some puzzles and change the fate of the universe. As you can expect the story in this is fairly light, with the focus being on the feel and atmosphere, but the multiple endings are still interesting and provide some more knowledge into the world you find yourself to be in.
The areas you explore are perfectly done in the low poly psx style, and really help add to the atmosphere of exploration. The strange characters are all perfect too, from a cat/raccoon creature to a terrifying giant floating maw. The music is also perfect for each of the locales you visit and help the areas differentiate. The puzzles are a little cryptic at first but all make sense if you pay attention to what characters are telling you and fully explore each environment.
This leads to a fun and atmospheric hour(-ish) long experience if you try to collect all the endings. My main criticism with the game would be that one ending and one secret achievement appear to be random or at the very least have no hints on how to achieve them in game and is a little annoying to repeat the same steps over and over to try and get the events to occur.
All in all if you want to relax and explore a little, this is well worth the asking price.

Hypnospace Outlaw was an incredible narrative experience from start to finish.

I love open ended and innovative storytelling, and this game is perfect for that. Exploring the hypnospace pages to learn about its inhabitants, and then seeing as these inhabitants interact with one another as the game progresses. Each page felt personal and perfectly emulated the feeling of the early internet, with low quality gifs and over the top cursors. With perfect microcosms of various internet sub-groups - watching the cool-punk (vapourwave) scene implode was a personal favourite of mine. And one particular narrative beat towards the end made me really feel for the hypnospace members.
Also the music selection was incredible, especially anything by the glorious Chowder Man, or the parody MCR in Seepage providing the perfect 1999 feel.

The puzzles in this game were perfect too. A fun mix of searching the sites and using various programs available on HypnOS to solve the cases felt great. The open endedness also made gave each puzzle multiple solutions which allowed you to find your own way through the hypnospace. The one time I did get stuck, a useful hint page helps give you pointers without spoiling too much (or can straight give you the answer if you need).

In conclusion, while this game may look like a silly parody of bad internet pages from 1999, it becomes something more when you spend some time and get to lean its inhabitants and explore. I wholeheartedly recommend.
