Fallout 4 was one of the most hyped releases of all time for me. Even over 10 years later, I still play it. But never vanilla. It is sort of impossible to repeatedly play this type of game without modding. And this is what I suggest anyone do when playing this game. Get the base game and the DLCs, preferably on a deep discount. Don't worry about any Creation Club/ Creations add-ons or the other overpriced gimmicks they sell in and outside the game. Grab a Nexus premium sub or have an iron-will and run this game with a Wabbajack modlist or go your own with Vortex/Mod Organizer 2 (I recommend Loreout).

Infinite Fallout 4 remix glitch: STILL WORKING 2026

The gameplay loop and world design still brings me back. It's not the main story or the questing. But the gunplay, dungeons, and wandering around is what calls me back every once and a while. Don't play if you like a good story, characters, or deep gameplay mechanics. Play this like Skyrim with guns.

Overall I think this game is fun. I don't think it is an incredibly deep action game nor is it a very deep RPG. It is an open-world action adventure game with RPG tropes like a Far Cry perk chart and a traditional questing/XP leveling system. The gameplay is quite novel, think Monster Hunter met with Uncharted. However the level of hunting in this game never reaches the depths of a Monster Hunter and the climbing mechanics of Uncharted are a bit, off.

TL;DR I would pick it up on a sale if you need a game to burn some time and a brain that needs to be turned off.

Speaking of off, this game has jank. Serious jank in terms of jerky animations from Aloy and the robotic beasts she fights to the up close character conversations in dialogue. Many times Aloy would get stuck in the terrain if I dodged from a certain angle or a beast would flip and wobble around on the X-axis over the terrain like a Radscorpion from Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Ultimately, I did not see any game-breaking glitches, only slight irregularities with physics and animations. One time, one of the flying bots got confused after shooting off its jets and shot up to the sky like a rocket and disappearing completely. This was funny so it passes for me. The music also has a tendency to just, stop? It will disappear during emotional cutscenes and when exploring the Sacred Lands, slightly dampening the wonder and immersive elements the game tries to promote. I am not sure how this wasn't fixed but it seems like patching has ended pretty quickly after this remaster dropped. In fact, i think this issue was not present in the original port on Steam. So some wire got crossed somewhere on release and won't be untangled anytime soon.

Technically, the game performs well. The game runs stable at around 110 to 130 FPS at 4K with more or less current DLSS and FSR upscalers and even includes frame generation for those who want fake frames. In combat the framerate does not shoot all the way down and remains quite playable. No crashes other than if you use the Exclusive Fullscreen mode and tab out of the game. The game will freeze indefinitely, requiring a restart. So I guess only play in borderless fullscreen. The game looks stunning at its best with rolling hills, snowy mountain tops and arid desert landscapes. However, the game look dated in the aforementioned animation department and if utilizing the high texture option. Notably, the game does not seem to use any ray-tracing technologies and is purely using rasterization for lighting, shadows, and ambient occlusion. I think it might support Nvidia's RTXGI which is like a half-assed raytracing option but is not path-traced and not immediately implemented by Nixxes/Guerrilla. This is odd considering the PS5 version of this game does have a raytracing mode. If you are worried about it, use a reshade mod and throw on HDR if you have a good OLED monitor or television.

All in all, I think this game is fine at its worst and fun at its best. It doesn't break new ground in any of the areas it dabbles with but the gameplay and overall presentation is novel enough that I did not dislike my playthrough of it. I think it is technically fine but does have annoying issues with fullscreen and music errors that probably should have been fixed in the last patch rather than stapling Playstation related information gathering services that no-one asked for. Also, where is ray-tracing? I would pick it up on a sale if you need a game to burn some time and a brain that needs to be turned off.

Note: Steam Deck performance is really bad. Game is borderline unplayable during some of the heavier scenes in dungeons and combat. I would steer clear of the Remaster and see if you can get just the normal game, I remember that working much better on Steam Deck and its itty bitty VRAM limitations.

Tl;DR: Game is great both in gameplay and narrative. The game is techincally ok but the minimum spec listed will simply provide and rough experience, game will stutter on any computer you will play it on but you can get used to it and the game is pretty playable with it.

It is sort of impossible to understate how much of a triumph The Last of Us was when it released in 2013. It marked the end of the PS3 and the beginning of the PS4 and set the tone for the quality titles that Sony's studios were going to make going forward.

And all of that started with this game (not this version specifically). Truly one of the best narratives in gaming and holds up on it's own perfectly. This is the re-released version after Part II came out and comes with updated art direction and performance capture, along with the short DLC story. The gameplay is survival horror met with Uncharted action-adventure and it does this pretty well I'd say. The gameplay loop is engaging and the stealth and shooting is great but if I am going to be honest, the best part of this gameplay is how well translated the story and the themes of the game are. You shout someone, the other guys scream out for help and have really immersive dialogue for when they try and find you or kill you. The clickers sound off-putting and your characters actively react to everything that they deal with in-game. The gameplay stays pretty fresh between both the sequences of stealthliy avoiding the infected or going against bandits or heavily armed soldiers. I think the survival mechanics service the gameplay just fine but service the plot better for a weightier punch for some narrative scenes. note that the game is pretty forgiving on its regular difficulty and I often had maxxed out resources and equipment about halfway through the game. So if you are a gamer that understands survival gameplay like a Resident Evil or Alan Wake, maybe bump it up a bit. The survival gameplay is simple but honestly that is perfectly fine because the best part of course is the narrative. Joel and Ellie are up there in terms of engaging character's in modern gaming and the performances by both Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson have cemented them as A-List actors within the gaming industry, even if they weren't already extremely influential then and now. The dialogue is so well written. Characters act extremely consistent and react in a similar fashion. The game can be convincingly scary, funny, and depressing with the characters coming alive while also having pretty decent gameplay to push the effort needed for the plot. Overall, I do think this is a game that everyone should play, no matter the perceptions the series has in recent years. This is a fantastic game and is a must play for those who love gaming and the stories that developers can create. Don't watch the show though, it really just isn't the same as playing the game.

On the technical side of things, the game is alright. I am running a 13700k, RTX 4080 super, and 64gbs 6400MT ram at 4K and I was getting around 80 FPS with DLSS on balanced and some settings like ultra textures reduced to stabilize some frametimes. I think the game is optimal and perfectly playable with my setup on a high refresh monitor at 160hz, but I fear those on older platforms might be impacted by the dreaded shader stutter that this port has at higher framerates. I think you will have a great time with this game if you run at the recommended settings as a the actual minimum. The minimum specs that is listed on this store page seems quite low for the extreme CPU and GPU overhead the game has during gameplay, 8gigs for video memory is a baseline at 1080p, any resolution higher needs a card with more memory for reduced stutter. I think Iron Galaxy did a great job at fixing this port shortly after release, but beware that there is going to be a little stutter in this game no matter the resolution. I think the NIxxes port of Part II is a lot smoother technically, but if you want to play this game, this is by no means a bad way to play.

Stand and fight is a perfect motto for this installment. Whilst the other games might be more about the constantly moving DOOM gameplay and either kiting or flying around, this one aims to make you feel unstoppable with mini-skill challenges like the parry and dash options throwing you in melee combat or from a distance with the spike weapon. You have to be more methodical, attention oriented, and willing to punish a demon with almost every tool in your arsenal as the horde is bigger and meaner than ever. But all the while, it still feels like DOOM when you get that oh so good Super Shotgun sweep.

It is such a high mark of praise towards id Software, to make three uniquely feeling, modern DOOM experiences with more or less similar marks of quality. It even runs well, better then I would have thought at 4k and high bounce raytracing. If you liked DOOM 2016 and/or DOOM Eternal, this one slots nicely with the current trio of titles with the DOOM Slayer.

Rip and Tear. Can't wait to play more.

What can I say but Spider-Man PS4 but, more. I could talk at length about the decent at best story or the lack of credits for the art in both the costumes and some of the story elements (no spoilers), but I rather would want to talk about how awful this game performs on a high-end rig. TLDR; the game was and is a blast but with a really hamfisted and rushed story and the performance is not what expected from a full priced port from Nixxes, so I will unrecommend it for now.

I am on a I7-13700k, 64gbs of DDR5 at 6200MT, and a RTX 4080 Super. I have played this game at both 1080p and now on 4K. In both cases, I experienced the dreaded PC Port stutter that more recent PC ports have been seeing these days, no matter what engine they are on. I would average 100 FPS with DLSS set to quality using CNN over Transformer and using 2x Framegen, but my 1% lows are in the 50s at times in the open world (this was tested without frame generation). Again, this makes the overall swing through NYC extremely stuttery. Sometimes halting the game if I go to fast around a building and the camera has to figure out where I am looking. In interiors, the game performs extremely well. So it might be an issue with streaming open world assets (don't quote me, i just play the games not make them)

At 1080p the situation is better but not by extreme margins. This is sort of a far cry from the really well made Spider-Man PS4 and Miles Morales port where I would get a locked framerate at 144 fps with decent 1% lows. Is the game playable on my rig. Absolutely. But I fear for my friends with different rigs than mine having some issues with getting the game to be playable. Especially on AMD GPUs as it crashed a lot when testing on my buddy's RX 6950XT system.

I would highly recommend looking up some footage and analysis of framerates and overall performance on a similar spec system you have before taking the $70+ plunge. There are two patches for the game at the time of writing which mainly help with the AMD gpu crashing and certain Intel ARC cards. Also, good luck playing this on a Steam Deck and having it work very well. It is not a very great experience on the go. I unrecommend this game for now until Nixxes is able to smooth out the stuttering and crashes. I will change it once I can see that some of the patches help.

EDIT: Wayyyyyyyy better now after ten whole patches lol.

this little package came a long way but it is honestly the best way to play all this games, mainly in single player. Multiplayer is extremely fickle as connection and crashing issues arise in surprisingly unique ways, changing characteristics game to game in the campaigns. Halo 2 funnily enough can crash both players if its on a level with a wraith and a scorpion in play. Halo 4 and 3 generally have terrible lag issues on the non-host player's end but are largely brief and well within playable. Halo CE has rare desyncing issues. Reach is largely ok. ODST has similar issues with 3.

Multiplayer on its own is great. Little to no issues there. Ultimately the game(s) are fantastic in this pack and is often on high discounts. Pick it up on a sale

Edit: Modding is where it is at with this one. Not only are there swaths of rebalances to Combat Evolved and Halo 2's sandbox, there are brand new fan developments for any of the games on offer in the MCC. Ruby's Rebalanced for CE is fantastic as it brings back the actual Combat Evolved visuals that are lost in this version of MCC (MCC uses the old Gearbox port to PC from back in the day that carries some visual issues) while also establishing some of the early lore like with the marine in the Library and some cut dialogue and creatures.

With Campaign Evolved around the corner, I highly suggest this title. Even though there are pretty annoying performance issues and the games aren't exactly like the originals if you know where to look, 80% of the games are exactly how they were all those years ago.

p.s, don't use the remastered textures for Combat Evolved if its your first play through. See the level 343 Guilty Spark for the reason why.
