Fun and Challenging.

My biggest con right now is the lack of context pop-ups. Not that I need one for everything but having to search through trader stores to find context on what can make what items and what this augmentation does compared to that augmentation. Even just understanding how augmentations work was slightly annoying.

Overall it's a fun game and for early access I think it's more complete than most games that get put up for EA

So while I would recommend this game I would also say not now to a bunch of people. IDK if this game is supposed to be a "Full release" or an "alpha/Beta Release" but a lot is missing that should have been there from the beginning.

1) Hints/Tips - Honestly the most annoying thing is getting vague hints about what to do. The island capture progress bar is not very helpful nor is any of the other "In Campaign" hints.

2) Ship information, my second biggest gripe comes from the AI being able to spot me from 25km with no radar help and then be able to somewhat accurately place shots on target before your ships ( with surface radar out past 25km) can't even see them until they are basically in point-blank range for large warships.

3) Nation tradeoffs, as mentioned above when playing as the U.S. it would be nice to feel like I have the capabilities of the U.S. Most IJN ships were technologically inferior to ours at the time but had more armor or bigger guns ( or in the case of the Yamato both) and while It feels like the IJN has more armor our technological advancement doesn't balance it out. I can't count how many times now I've been reduced to have 3km gun battles to effectively engage the enemy.

4) Submarines are confusing. Sitting completely still tracking a target within 3km, with a 99% solution and my torpedos miss the rear of the ship by 20 meters. It's infuriating when you only have 14 total torpedoes on the vessel, to begin with.

5) Sonar also is weird, Without being an IRL sonar operator I can't say for certain what you're able to discern on a WW2 vessel with sonar but I feel like they were able to determine where an enemy sub was located unless it directly beneath them, they were moving fast, or it was behind them. It seems like a game of chance to find an enemy sub. I've got to the point where I do the sub encounters, dodge the torpedoes, and then retreat from the encounter, or else I'm spending 3 hours looking for a sub.

6) The AI needs a major rework. They don't respond to incoming fire unless they are hit. I've watched several Torps just cruise past the front of a convoy and they just keep right on moving. I sank the Musashi when she along with a Kongo BB and several CL's and DD's drove straight into Guadalcanal. If it had been in response to my fire I would have laughed that you put that in the game but they didn't even acknowledge my presence until I was much closer to them, by that point I had disabled and set on fire both the Kongo and the Musashi so they were out of the fight.

Overall there is some good to this game and it can be fun...Especially when you discover you mod the source files to make your Subs go Mach 1 underwater. It's just some of these other things that make me kind of hesitate some.
