This game isn't creepy enough or have enough atmosphere to be a horror game. I genuinely laughed out loud at one death in particular (the fish) rather than getting any kind of jump scare from it. It's not really weird enough to delve into the psychological or psychedelic either, the environments are still too grounded for that, strangely enough. It's surreal but not surreal enough to make up for what it lacks in other ways.

The pixelation is definitely...a choice. Maybe I'm just old but it genuinely hurts to focus on this game for too long. I ended up changing to the highest level (the not recommended one) which turns up the detail a little and it made the game more palatable. I kinda feel like the overuse of this effect is just to mask the really poor texturing - I'm not even talking about the low res textures, I don't mind that so much, it's just the way they're lazily slapped onto surfaces with little attention to lining up tiles or details.

I don't mind walking simulators in general but some of the walks went on for just too long in between an event or something interesting to see or do and it got tedious quite fast.

It's definitely just a random series of events and it's interesting for that fact alone. The gore comes out of nowhere but after setting the tone in the first minute of the game with the um... let's call it the key to open the first door, I was hopeful there would be more of this shock value but it's actually few and far between. I think they spoiled most of it in the trailers, from what I've played so far. The animation of these parts is excellent though, one of the highlights. Reminds me of old school Lucasarts animations. The switch back to player control is jarring though, they're like two completely different animation styles being implemented. Weird and not in a good or intended way.

I may struggle onwards to finish this but it's a slog so far. Lots of cool ideas, just not implemented very well. The length could've been shortened by a good 20-30% to keep pacing and progression rolling along better. At least it's cheap enough, I don't feel completely robbed by this but I wouldn't be in a rush to recommend it to anyone.

Based on this demo I wouldn't hold out much hope for the finished product being any good.
The writing is truly awful. The lack of voice acting was enough of a let-down but the replacement dialogue they wrote for characters doesn't at all sound like what these characters do in the show. Janeway in particular sounds like a caricature, with none of Kate Mulgrew's qualities. I know it's hard to translate real actors to text only dialogue but others have managed it.

Performance is pretty bad, I had to drop settings down to High or Medium on a 5070Ti. Somehow the visuals in this game are even worse than the 30 year old CGI we got with the original show in the 90s. How is that even possible?

The away missions or essentially a mediocre visual novel. There are no cutscenes in this game, just text telling you what happens. This would be fine for a low-budget game if the writing was actually any good, but it's just not.

Soundtrack is so bland and generic compared to the original show.

For fans of Voyager I'd say to just avoid this. It's a very cheap imitation.

This game just isn't good. There were a few funny jokes in the trailer so I thought this might be entertaining for a while. But the jokes wear thing very quickly. The writing quality of the humour just isn't there. The comedic timing is waaaay off and everything feels really drawn out, forced or on the nose, not in a good way. You can see punch lines coming a mile away, and they're not that good to begin with,.

The gameplay itself is simplistic, I wasn't expecting much in the first place and hoped the humour would carry the game. The "puzzles" vary between extremely obvious and "you need to live in the designer's brain to understand their thought process."

Give this a miss. Even on sale, your time is more valuable than this game is worth.

Still one of the best RPGs of all time. What more is there to say?

Yet another boring battle royale. Aren't we tired of these games yet? Let's hope the full single player game is better. I tried the Solo (deathmatch) mode to get a feel for the game. It's not all that great. The game world feels large and empty. The novelty of feeding on humans wears off after about 10 seconds when you realise there's almost no risk/consequences and minimal gains. I think there's a lot of bots in the games too. The skill level of enemy players varies hugely from veterans to dumbass bots.
Controls are ok (used KB&M). Guns feel bland, nothing really unique or stand-out. Sound effects are generic but serviceable. It could do with more ambient effects to create better immersion.
The vampire powers are fun but there's very few available here. Graphics aren't all that great compared to what should be capable on current-gen hardware. Looks like the standard from about 5-7 years ago.
I'd give it a generous 6/10 purely because V:TM badly needs more games and I really want to see the gaming franchise revived but a bland battle royale is NOT the way to do it.
Praying that Bloodlines 2 is a lot more polished that this.

Since this is pretty much an alpha, barely a beta, I won't be too harsh, but right now this is quite boring and to be honest not at all what I expected. They seem to have forked out to get the voice actors from the series on board(at least the English speaking ones) so I'm hoping there's big plans for this to develop into something truly special. Unfortunately right now this is a VERY generic FPS game with little creativity behind the weapons or map designs. Was looking forward to maybe some PVE where you play as a team of Section 9 on special op missions with good variety and perhaps even some story thrown in? That said the other reviews complimenting the controls and actions are spot on, it is fairly fluid gameplay wise and the graphics are nice and well optimized (although currently no gfx settings can be customised and it's set to 1600x900 I noticed. Also controls can't be customised which is very annoying since I'm not a WASD user but I'm sure this will be added later (I use arrow keys and apparently those cant be mapped for some strange reason....). If this continues to only be a FPS deathmatch game like what they did with the MechWarrior franchise then count me out. Would be sad to see such a great IP lending its name to what currently amounts to a generic shooter.
