Bought it because I heard online that it had a story comparable in quality to Kotor II. However the tone and characters in the introduction were quite off putting as they seemed to not take things very seriously despite the rather dire circumstances. In particular, cracking jokes and whatnot not even 5m after seeing the citizens of the town they were in being slaughtered en mass by demons.

It occurred enough that it took me out of the experience and I didn't really care to continue.

Can't say to much about it as a good amount of the fun comes from discovery (in a similar vein to Outer Wilds as other reviews have mentioned). But if you like Zelda and the Dark Souls bonfire/estus game play loop it's a good time.

Puzzles were fun too. I'd advise against looking anything up on that front as the game can be beaten with just information from the manual. The only exception (for my tolerance at least) being the optional content that can be saved for after you've beaten the game.

A really enjoyable Metroidvania type game. During my time with it I was immersed by the atmosphere of the world and its lore, and the gameplay was consistently fun. Can't ask much more of a game, especially considering the generosity of the devs in providing free updates/expansions.

A solid game that gave me similar feelings to when I played Zelda for the first time. The characters can be a tad silly at times and its themes on the nose but it doesn't overstay its welcome and I was able to 100% it over the course of 3 days and was left still wanting to play more.

Hands down my favourite Star Wars game and has my favourite Star Wars character in both the current canon and legacy material.

Its story is interesting and engaging, fleshing out the universe and exploring ideas not all that touched upon in canon. Personally, I'd say if you were only somewhat interested in trying the Kotor series you can skip the first entry as not only is The Sith Lords more interesting in terms of its story and refined in terms of gameplay; its re-release has also made it significantly easier to run. You may miss out on certain bits of context but the game is more than able to stand on its own. Just make sure to add the Restored Content Mod from the workshop as it wasn't completely finished on its original release.

Afterwards, feel free to join me in asserting this series as canon.
