The game starts of strong, good even but its flaws will make themselves known very soon enough. Got back to playing this after having taken a break from it, was instantly reminded why i took a break in the first place.

I've repeatedly sprinted down a cliff or staircase only for my character to go flying off as if he had just skateboarded off a ramp.
The gun play can get boring and dull really quickly with most weapons feeling extremely underwhelming or just weird to use.
The game's old age is very clearly showing and while it isn't a bad thing, there are instances where you can manually pause the game and yet the narrator will still keep talking or you will start a combat encounter only for the game to completely pause the game for you and then have some dude start his goofy aah monologue about how the cowboy life is le cool and god knows what else.

Early Access Review
Purchased it to play coop, but didn't really enjoy playing it at all.

In my personal opinion:
- There is simply too much happening all at once on the screen, especially when playing it in coop. Enemies have attacks (aoe attacks especially) that can't be telegraphed at all when friendly or enemy effects are going off all at once, aka what is friendly and what isn't, what to dodge etc...The best example of this would already be the 2nd boss in the game with its aoe attacks.

- You can easily get stun locked and thus insta killed in the process.

- Already in the second area of the game enemies can easily one shot you if don't focus on getting HP upgrades, making it a matter of going pure glass cannon or tanky-ish but then you won't have enough damage to kill later stage mobs or bosses.

- It's in early access and a lot might change but i won't be spending my 20 EUR on this.

Games that are actually fun to play and spend 30-ish minutes per run:
Death Must Die
Deep Rock Galactic Survivor
Halls Of Torment
Soulstone survivors

Look them up and you're welcome.

With Vampire Survivors i just feel bored while mindlessly moving around having no active skills/abilites and there is also no "dash" that some other games use. Also most of the actually good upgrades are built combining items that you have no idea what could even interact with each other. Hell at one point during the higher levels the game just blatantly tells you "nah bruh no more upgrades because you don't have enough luck" and proceeds to offer you coins or health. So i literally get punished because i neglected to pick the "luck" trait often enough during my run lmao? I've never seen other "survivors-like" games use this mechanic and i can see why.

I genuinely don't get all of the hype that this game gets.

Parry mechanic but you can't parry the bosses, amazing idea right here. So essentially there is 0 point to try and parry some of the boss's attacks, which just ticked me off the wrong way to be honest. Bosses deal insane amounts of damage at times, are repetitive and boring to fight against overall, like other people have stated on here.
Since parrying is useless against bosses you can instead keep rolling head first into any attack and it will easily "dodge" the damage. PEAK boss fighting mechanics.

Every other if not even every enemy has this very funny and cool thing where they are charging their attack up long enough for me to rub one out and then the enemies will attack as if they are The Flash, because as you know that is difficult after all. Obviously every good souls like needs these attacks. Oh and of course the enemies and bosses can interrupt you easily but you can't do anything against their attacks. Also imagine having an ability where you are literally charging at the enemy with your shield up and will still take damage from any enemy attack while using the ability. Good idea chaps, really motivates me to use your completely useless shield ability that just punishes me for using it.

The final boss is just the prime example of "now guys, here we really want to show that we are a souls like game" aka the boss has 3 different fxcking phases starting with you fighting against yourself and everything you are using, the second phase is the boss using a sword doing the good ol'e "IM GOING TO ATTACK YOU ANY MINUTE NOW" and then proceeds to instantly swing his sword about 3 times, the third phase is the boss using some sort of regarded spell stone thing and he proceeds to spam lightning attacks you which you can dodge by running around the cramped aah arena or dodging into the boss.

I had enough of the game when i died to the final boss cause i literally couldn't see anything while getting zapped to death because the camera angles are atrocious at times.

Early Access Review
At the time of writing this, the game literally didn't even award me the achievement of completing Haz 5 on one of the levels. After hours and hours of grinding and try harding trying to beat a Haz 5, the game literally says "nah buddy fxck you, you will get no achievement here."

Yes it's an extremely weird thing to obsess or whine over but i genuinely believe this in a way also reflects the state that this game is in currently. Your hard work isn't even valued and you will get no rewards to show off here. Disappointing, extremely disappointing.

Another good one for this: https://www.reddit.com/r/DRGSurvivor/comments/1gveagv/hazard_level_5_achievements_bugged/

An actual thread about the same issue posted 3 months ago and still no fixes have been implemented lmao. Good thing people are trying to beat Haz 5 while getting nothing for it.

Everything about this game is just an insanely broken and buggy mess.
That's the best way to sum up what i saw during the little time i wasted on this.
Got the game on sale a couple of months ago and i hate myself for it.
Just stay far away from this absolute trash fire.

For context: I had previously spent 40+ something hours playing the game on my older PC and from what i remember i have fond memories of really enjoying and having fun with it at the time but eventually decided to take a break cause my older PC was just too slow to 100% enjoy the game for what it is.
Fast forward 2 years i finally get a brand new top notch gaming PC and want to play the game at its peak graphics and just to take it all in. I boot up the game trying to remember what i was doing when i took a break from it almost 2 years ago, i see that i have a racing quest to do near Talmberg at noon, i go to the location and the npcs are literally glitched inside their horses, my own horse glitches out near one of the racers and i have to dismount to fix it. Already i'm at my "bro what the actual fxck is going on right now?" levels and what follows will soon make me truly remember why i actually took a break from this game. The race organizer arrives and still nothing happens so i wait in game for something to happen, suddenly i'm at the race line, i look at my map to see if any waypoints are available to pinpoint where to go...there are none and i'm playing on the standard difficulty. Closing the map bugs or glitches out the organizer speaking and the voice lines are now muted with subtitles coming up. The race starts and i'm literally being collision fxcked to infinity and beyond, the other racers run forward full throttle in front of me, i follow one of the racers to the needed UNMARKED checkpoints and eventually finish the race 2nd cause the horse i was riding decided to become a mountain climber and run up a hill near the end instead of going left like i wanted it to.
At this point i'm already fuming and just telling myself to take it easy and go do other quests. I go to a cuman camp, i sneak into the camp and i see no one, i start looting items only to discover that i'm overburdened and suddenly in combat being unable to do anything, i get spammed at with arrows, a guy pokes me in the cheeks with his spear and some dude is literally punching me (in heavy armor) with his bare fists. I stab the reigning fisting champion in the face with my longsword and this dude just casually holds his face as if i had just poked him with a fxcking toothpick, i shift focus to the spear guy having the lock on camera absolutely freak out and going all over the place while the 3 enemies are essentially circling around me, i kill the spear guy, the archer is far away so i slowly start to walk towards him with my shield up, suddenly the guy i literally stabbed in the face earlier has a sword and is now trying to jam it up my rectum, they eventually get me and i die. I find myself back at the bed i first spawned in and have now lost roughly 2 hours of progress.
The experience i had within these 2 hours is literally why i didn't bother with this game and decided to inhale copium telling myself that it's just the graphics, it wasn't cause the combat in this game is a nightmare to actually enjoy having the lock on camera go crazy every time there is more than 1 enemy on the screen. The game is still riddled with bugs and glitches that are just blatantly immersion breaking and take away any enjoyment there was/is.

The game doesn't even try to explain it's own basic mechanics or gameplay loop for you the player so that you could actually properly play and enjoy the game. I did 3 runs and every run the rooms i had were pretty much useless, i got nothing good or useful from the rooms nor did i even understand what the actual fxck is even going on since as i said before there are no descriptions no explanations nothing.
The colors and saturation are a nightmare for anyone who easily gets migraines, it's painful to just even look at. It's insane that someone would think overly saturated bright colors are pleasant for longer sessions i mean this combo would cause head aches for even the most average person.

The first thing i noticed that just sort of really really bothered me was the main character's movement and the overall animations she has (extremely weird to look at), it seriously reminds me of a Flash game's animations.
The second thing would be that the game at least in my opinion really tries to be like dead cells even the trailers remind me of Dead Cells (which also piqued my interest), its almost like a majority of the inspiration came from Dead Cells (the enemies, the level design and layout, the weapons and combat), which is also okay however Dead Cells has intense, fast paced, high risk high reward combat. This game has combat that just feels sluggish/slow and clunky (other reviews will state the same issue). You have a ranged weapon that you really can't aim, essentially your character shoots the first enemy she sees and is able to shoot aka is in range for example, although now that i think about it, i think it was the same in Dead Cells lmao, so wow i guess i'm not that surprised anymore.
The third and final thing would be that the game just didn't feel exciting or interesting to play (yes i only got to the first boss and killed it but during that time i already felt like i will have to force myself to play this). It also didn't help that the skill tree, for me at least was completely broken, i literally allocated a skill into a slot or something like that and nothing happened, i got the achievement for it as well or maybe the skill tree was just made to be confusing.
I just think that the developers took a majority of their inspiration from Dead Cells but didn't really manage to catch the energy and excitement that Dead Cells has where you're always on edge when playing it on higher difficulties or even on the default difficulty. Dead Cells is also straight forward and simple, here you once again have a hub that you have to frequently visit and interact with in order to stay up to par with what the next levels have in store for you.
I got the game on sale but i'd rather refund it.

This is hands down THE MOST fun I've had playing a game in years, i felt like childhood nostalgia hit me strong cause the game just got me so hyped up, I feel like I want to play it pretty much every chance I have/get.
The shooting mechanics are extremely solid and satisfying to learn and master, the different classes add so much more to learn and the builds you can make can be so fun and crazy good.
The maps are very well designed keeping in mind the fact that you can slide on rails, double jump (pogo jump), dash crouch cancel etc, when it all comes together it is just so fluid and satisfying. Some of the boss areas could be a bit more roomy in my opinion.
THE MUSIC is just "muah", my god every map has an absolute banger in the background while you're ripping hostile bots a new one. I literally nod my head along with the beat while shooting and moving around trying desperately to survive an onslaught of different variety of enemies.
The enemy variety is also interesting and just the right amount of challenge when they're all in the same room. You can also freely adjust the game's difficulty to whatever you feel like suits you best, I stick to standard and i've gotten to the final boss a couple of times but let's just say the final boss is quite a challenge to conquer, you will it see for yourself.
Overall just get this game even at full price if you can and i promise you will not regret it. Oh and you can play this with a friend which is like even more fun. Seriously get this game.
