I came from Paragon so this game feels like a fresh version of that. I will say the game sometimes has connection issues, and i think the learning curve is difficult for new people, but i also think that if you give the game a proper chance, you'll have a good time, especially with friends.

On the surface this game looks janky, but this game is anything but about the surface.
I bought this game to play with some friends a few years ago, and watching how the dev team has updated it over time, added more content and features, and all the QOL updates is one of the reasons why i stuck to this game for so long.

The game has a unique concept that i haven't really seen before, tapping into both terror, horror and action. The monsters are scary, the deep dark abyss is absolutely terrifying, and ontop of it all you are crammed in with a submarine crew where one crewmember could potentially be out to kill everyone, and you never know (traitor mode is optional).
The campaign is story rich, the world is full of life, and i catch myself immersed in every aspect of the game.

Other than playing the campaign itself, the game has a super indepth Sub Editor, which is where i've probably spent majority of my time. It's a bit of a learning curve, but once you learn it you have so much freedom. Don't like the base game submarines? Make your own.

The game is immersive, has a lot of well developed mechanics, and is really fun with friends. 10/10

EDIT: They've fixed everything below, so this is now a good game to purchase, even in 2025

This is one of the best FPS game i've ever played. Respawn took what was great about Titanfall 1 and made it so much better, however the multiplayer is unplayable, the game crashes on start-up 70% of the time, or whenever you go into multiplayer. The server continously time out, and there are hardly anyone playing it anymore which easily gives you +10 minutes queue times.
I would have loved to recommend this game, but this is a crippled cash grab from EA, seing how the game is broken and half of the advertised stuff doesn't even work anymore, but it's still on sale for full price.

I decided to replay this game out of Nostalgia, as it came to steam. I bought this game in 2012 or something and haven't played it since then, and the second you hear the theme in the intro and watch the intro cinematic to the main menu.... Nostalgia Overload.

The game's art still holds up and the visuals are pretty much like i remembered. The sleek and stylized art, cartoony cinematics between missions, and the intro sequences still stands out to this day.
Although the game is pretty, the character controls haven't aged that well, and at times were frustrating or really clunky.
I still completed the game and enjoyed it through and through. For Nostalgia the game is a 10/10, but for the age of the game considering the quality of other games today, i think a fair comparison is a 7.5/10.
Still definitely worth it, especially if you have EA play is you can just grab it.
