If you think Doom Eternal took things too far with how you have to handle demons in very specific ways, give The Dark Ages a shot. The game is more grounded, but with the shield introduced to the gameplay still lots of fun.

Server has been down since february... it's july now. The developer is no longer communicating with players, or rather ex-players.

FPS inspired by the classics, featuring a blocky layout like Wolfenstein 3D, but in a setting reminiscent of the Heretic and Hexen games. Comes with support for custom maps and sprites, and a map editor to make your own.

Modernized old school FPS. If you like games like classic Doom and Build engine games, definitely give this a try.

A neat way to get familiar with the Steam Deck's hardware features and/or a fun Portal side story toy/game.

Relaxing casual game with a bunch of different songs sung by silly monsters. Log in a couple of times per day to cash in and take care of stuff. Breed more, new monsters to add to the songs. Earn money to spend on stuff to help the monsters make even more money. Repeat.

If you're a fan of classic Build engine games or classic FPSs in general, you pretty much have to play this. If you missed out on those and want to experience something like them on a modern system with no hassle, also give this a try. It very much is a throwback to the '90s, using the actual Build engine, though with a bunch of the old limits removed, allowing for even more creativity from the creators. It has a nice and vibrant colour palette, nice pixel and voxel art as we call it these days, and it looks great compared to some of the modern, grey/brown FPSs.

Since it's based on the Build engine enemy AI isn't as advanced as what you might see in modern games. I would've liked a bit more diversity in the map themes, and the upcoming expansion will add just that. Sadly they weren't able to add a multiplayer mode.

More of Subnautica, but a new story set in somewhat different settings, with different wildlife, and different tools to be used. What's not to love.

From the people who made Cortex Command comes another 2D physics-based game. You control a character on multiple, circular worlds where gravity always points towards the world's centre. You can kill, scan, and build items, weapons, vehicles, contraptions, and even creatures. Has Steam Workshop support for everything I just mentioned, so expect lots of strange, new worlds with different gameplay opportunities to become available.
