I haven't played since I got the Battle Chest for my birthday like 23 years ago.. And holy hell the difference..
It actually freaking runs properly and doesn't crash at the intro movie like the good ol Windows Vista days.

I never actually got to play LoD, so the Druid and Assassin are totally new to me.. So I'll play the Warlock once I've played these other two.

Also, it's not a Reforged situation, thank god.

Every Steam account I've ever had these last 19 years, owned the Counter-Strike: Anthology.. First bundle I would ever buy and pretty much the only one I would ever own on those.

I don't play Counter-Strike anymore as I've aged, but this was an absolute legendary game back in my earliest teenage years.. This and some sick Techno/Trance remixes in the background and lots of screaming everytime I died.. Ahh heck yeah.

They really know their art style well since OaTBF, they know their ish.

I can see myself buying this in the future once the inventory has been improved.
Would also love to see a buyback feature.

Performance is.. decent, I suppose.

Keep in mind, this DLC is over 10 years old..

As so many others have said.. It needs another look at.

I kinda like it..

Even if it only runs at 60 fps on Medium and with DLSS being on Performance and all that.. When I want 90+ at least.. It's not too bad, doesn't feel like 60 fps for some reason.

Claptrap has seen an odd downgrade, and I know this.. Cause I just played BL1-2 and 3 the last few days in preparation.. And there's something going on with him I can't quite place my finger on.

But overall, so far.. Feels pretty great.

My original review from 31 July, 2025 was Negative. Purely based on the extremely low framerate I was given at 35FPS on even the lowest of settings.

Changing it positive as I can now reach 90 fps (Though far from my 120fps I got on Grounded 1, and it's noticable, but better than 35)

I give it a score of Groundeds out of Groundeds. It's more Grounded!

HOWEVER..

It's Grounded.... on Unreal Engine 5.. So basically, you get a game that almost looks just like Grounded 1, with some minor "improvements"? Idk, I ain't seeing it. But what I am seeing.. Is..

Reduced Framerate
Compiling Shaders!
Compiling Shaders!
Compiling Shaders!
Compiling Shaders!

It's still more Grounded though, and I love Grounded.

Oh and one more positive note..

WEB ROPE IS NOW THE DEFAULT ON THE SPINNING WHEEL!! YAAAAY!

Oh actually one more negative note..

WHERE IS THE MULTIPLE ROWS OF HOTPOUCHES AT?! WHY DID YOU REMOVE THEM?!

One more little pet peeve of mine.. Why do multiple sets of armor still have Co-Op only features? Like Ant Armor increasing damage to neaby allies.
Majority of players in this game are definitely gonna be solo'ing the game.. So why? Just have two different attributes to that armor that simply changes itself to something else upon another player joining in. Red Ant Armor is legit just trash now, you'll be replacing Red Ant weapons within an hour after acquiring them.

Wow.. I never reviewed this absolute freaking masterpiece..

*I used like 2-3 mods for the cyberspace hacking system that basically increases defense, fire rate and damage of projectiles to speed it up, I don't hate cyberspace, but I really just wanna play the game itself rather than being frustrated with having to restart the lengthy cyberspace sequences, they're very easy to install if you wish to sort of "skip" the hacking.*

Everything else is just right up my dang alley.. I'm a trash collector, I collect everything, and this game allows that. And I mean everything.. Toilet paper? Take it! Toothbrushes? Grab it with your mouth and dump it in your very restricted inventory(1) Mini-Computers, Hats, Candy Wrappers, Chips or Crisps Bags, Empty Cans from the 10 sodas you just consumed in a row.. Throw it in your backpack! Scrap all of it and spend hours doing just that for some credits.. You can do that.. Or don't.. It's your choice.. But picking up stuff is a great pass time of mine. And it's awesome.

(1) The Inventory is super small considering the amount of cr*p you throw in there. And how many firearms you get.. You get like 7 or 8 weapons that fire different ammo, and a bunch of grenades and mines, healing patches, medkits and a ton of buff patches AND you get all the junk and scrap, the alternative ammo types, AND the primary ammo types.. So prepare to play Tetris.. A lot.

Oh also.. The game has a ton of really cool animations for just about every interaction. *Picking up weapons, using patches, equipping and holstering.. Using objects in the world that recharge energy or heal you and quite a few more things(2)*

(2) You can conserve your ammo by using energy weapons that drains your characters power supply, which can be recharged by the generous amount of recharge stations around Citadel Station. Same goes with Surgery Machines that gives you full health, while not generous, majority of levels have one, these can be used if you wish to backtrack a little to heal up.

This also means... SAVE! Save often.

Enemies are kind of dumb, but their huge amount of damage they deal if they do hit you.. (And they will hit you.. guaranteed) easily makes up for their low IQ.

Just a great game.

Absolutely nailed the feel, visuals and sound.

Easy to get into.

HAS CRAFT FROM STORAGE and QUICK DEPOSITING.. My god, it has something that should be considered absolutely standard for any survival craft. And holy heck the range of storage crafting is big. I love it! 10/10 game.

Please add 3440x1440 though, thanks boss.
