It's pretty good for pre-release. Charming references and lots of Japanese-style humor.
Hopefully the next year of development will give it the polish it needs.

Not to sound ungrateful, but here's some things I'd change:
  • Add rebindable buttons. Especially for keyboard.
  • Add text info for the various fullscreen and windowed modes. ("1920x1080" Etc.)
  • Add a visual clue for timed spikes when they're hidden.
  • After hitting a button, it can be difficult to tell what changed due to the heavy screen shake and lack of indicators. This could be fixed with particle effects, or an arrow that shows the new path.
  • "Random Event" graphics are blurry, just like they are in the trailer. Is this on purpose? If so, why?
  • The boss at the end of the demo is very slow, has no health bar or injured sprite(s), and is arguably too simple. They casually float around the room and shoot a single star, which sometimes bounces unpredictably. The occasional strange angles don't feel like an intentional design choice.

Arrowhead made my favorite game, Magicka 1.
A beautiful glass-cannon style power fantasy that's creative, hilarious, and easy to understand.
They (and/or the publishers) then proceeded to overload the already unstable engine with DLC.

Foreshadowing is a literary device in which--...

I'm not sure what i expected, but it wasn't this.

The Good:
  • The art style is pretty, and something I haven't seen anywhere else.
  • The writing is funny in my opinion.
  • Interesting world building.
  • There's an unexpected "underlying" theme of the advancement of AI and technology as a whole.
  • The music's good, but is very basic and has parts where the rhythm completely dies.

The Bad:
  • The core mechanic of controlling a sword with your mouse is neat on paper, but in practice it leads to wild flailing and combat that's way too fast to react to. "But there's a time slow feature!" I hear you say.
  • The time slowing does help, but 1: It hardly lasts 2 seconds. 2: The recharge bar is easy to miss.
  • There's several moments where the player is attacked instantly or forced to fall on to an enemy they couldn't see.
  • The first time the player's suddenly attacked is directly out of a cutscene, controlling a new character with no warning.
  • That music thing I already said.
  • Occasional spelling and grammar mistakes.
  • It's possible to get OOB* in a few places. (There's no benefit, though.) (*OOB = Out of bounds.)
  • The jump kick mechanic is poorly explained (at first, i'll get to that) and can sometimes force the player OOB, causing them to restart the segment.
  • There's three separate instances of a basic tutorial. (Yes, really.)
  • In one of those instances, the player is taught how to jump kick an enemy and then immediately punished by having two enemies put their swords where you need to land.
  • There's procedural leg animation, but no delay for one foot. Leading to you (visually) bouncing around like a rabbit. (How does it look less ridiculous to walk backwards?)

Overall, I'd probably say give it a try.
It's short, free, and if you're stuck,
try going up the vending machine guy and pressing Down+Jump. (S+Space.)

Makes a good first impression, but gets boring fast. Play Roboquest instead.

Some of the character traits have missing descriptions in game, and/or just don't work. One of many bugs. I know this game is made by one person, but ffs the name of the game sounds like a generic magic ore. This isn't even the fun type of bad.

How would you feel if you bought a promising but unfinished game, then 2 years later they left it behind and made the same game but with more features (Rougelands,) asking for another $10? Why?

I love holding down the craft button for 8 hours.
You have to keep your mouse centered on the button, too.
Just go play Factorio.

TLDR:
This wall-jumping cat has hilariously broken magic crafting and leveling up systems that make the game surprisingly interesting.

First off, I love games that let you break them and have your own fun. You can shoot flaming homing spheres with one hand, and repeatedly clone yourself (they also shoot spells) with the other hand. You can chop off both your arms (+100% spell damage per arm) and play with only passive charms (you bind your custom spells to) and some fast movement. With a 'Lunge' mod and a 'Hold' pattern, you can actually fly.
Yes, that's exactly as fun and broken as it sounds.

Important side note:
This game is a rougLITE. There's a big difference between rougeLIKE and rougeLITE. In rougelikes, you lose literally everything when you die. In rougelites, you keep at least one thing between runs; such as EXP or money.

When you beat a boss they give skill points that you spend at the 'Nekonomicon' in the main menu. It does give you benefits, yes, but for every point you have in the book, the harder the game gets. This is optional, and there's also a 'Reset points' button in the book.
(That one picture of the Nekonomicon on the store page is outdated.)

The only real negative thing is that the sound design is not great. For example, there's no limit to how loud the game can be when multiple sounds play on top of each other. However, the game even tells you (in a main menu tip) that you should play your own music, as the game intentionally doesn't have any.

This is the only game that this developer has put on steam so far, and it's pretty clearly made by one person, but all things considered it's very fun. Give it a shot!

Thank you for reading.

This is a game I would recommend to anyone.
It's well made, charming, and you can even play it with a missing arm.
