TL;DR
A mixed Gothic adventure with exceptional Gothic themes, atmosphere and visuals, but with fluctuating levels of quality and okay combat. Almost 23 hours for my first playthrough and no regrets.

(Spoiler free)
My experience of this game as you've already read is mixed. If I had to rate this game out of 10 it would be something like 7/10 but that doesn't really express how I feel about the game so this review is gonna be dissected into pros and cons.

Good things that stuck:
Strong start right into the action. I had played the beginning of the game way back when I was younger and it felt so great and nostalgic to play it again. The intro is so powerful and lovely and I would even say one of the best parts of the game.
The world building and atmosphere in this game is some of its biggest strengths. It is such a key element that it single-handedly makes the game still relevant to this day. While the map is very huge and everything connects to each other, almost making it resemble an open world map, it is still insanely detailed and full of stuff to find and see at the same time.
A lot of collectibles and side content, from trials and bonus areas to special keys, items and upgrades it makes you want to take every step carefully and fully explore the entire game.
This also helps immerse you into the game and lets you fully enjoy its beautiful visuals and locations. The graphics are especially impressive and good looking for its time and can still be enjoyable even today.
If you're into gothic themes, this is a perfect game for you. The solid variety of enemies and enemy designs, paired with fun characters, immerses you in a dark and mysterious world that feels truly gothic in every aspect.
While playing, I made an effort to miss as little stuff as possible resulting in my first playthrough being almost 23 hours, and I still didn't manage to fully complete everything in the game. Maybe one day I'll go back and try to 100% the game.
It was relatively fun the whole way through particularly every boss felt exciting and the gameplay overall was satisfying and fun. Mostly because of the main mechanics surrounding the combat and your selection of weapons and powers.
But here's where it starts to feel icky, maybe even more so if you're sensitive about things like this and it really bothers you. I myself tolerated a good amount but it never really irritated me.

Not so good things that stuck:
The combat is very easy and overall pretty simple. I wouldn't say basic because the gameplay has its depths but definitely God of War level of difficulty.
The parry system specifically being the most important mechanic to keep the combat together is very awkward yet effortless. The input for it (if I remember correctly) is the same input as rolling/dodging but you have to be neutral on the joystick, leading to some occasional accidental dodges. Also the quick get-up mechanic after getting hit threw me off and I didn't get used to it at all even till the very end of the whole game.
The dialogue in general was mostly okay and not very noteworthy. Some handful of parts were absolutely brilliant, some parts were a bit average and some were kinda bad. It was really boring and underwhelming towards the end.
Notably the game's climax, the final boss felt rushed. They wanted to do something special for the ending but it just felt anticlimactic.

Overall the game felt Inspired and pretty special and even though it wasn't perfect, I had a very lovely time playing it.

Honestly I don't even know what the deal is with this game. Game feels outdated as hell and pretty abandoned but constantly gets paid DLCs. It is very cluttered and confusing while not providing that many meaningful options. My endless nitpicks aside I'm not even a fan of the base gameplay. Some cheeky thievery sure, I can enjoy that but did it have to be a messy horde shooter, kill 400 super human soldier cops with your pink concealed custom short barreled minigun. I never found it interesting. The only missions I did like were the stealth missions at night but even the stealth mechanics were bare-bones and boring. What I did spend a good amount of time messing around with was the gunsmith/loadout customization. It is fairly vast and offers many unique options but it's not that big of a deal in terms of redeeming the rest of the game.
In conclusion it fell short of my expectations by a mile even tho I wasn't expecting that much.
And for a while I was kind of looking forward to Payday 3 but after seeing how that turned out all I can say is they have truly proven their lack of care and incompetence.

TL;DR
Old outdated children's game that is a waste of time for the average person.

I'd like to start with an apology for my overly negative and potentially harsh review. I know this game can be very special for many people and I for one have some good memories playing it with a friend but I couldn't bring myself to see anything positive about it.

This game is a comedy-action first-person looter shooter with sluggish movement, boring action, and bad combat. It features forgettable characters running around killing forgettable enemies with hundreds of forgettable guns. Although the game touts 17 million different guns, there are hardly any distinguishable differences between weapons within the same class that would make them recognizable or give them identity and many of them are locked behind unnecessarily tedious grinding.
The main story is also lackluster, pretty generic and predictable, with lots of clichés. The surface-level character design makes it difficult to get attached to any of the characters, as they are either quirky gimmicky goofballs, bland uninspired hero type or bland edgy badasses. The game is a number simulator with little to no difficulty, making it geared towards children, and overall a very unengaging experience.

It only got to where it is because of its goofy, quirky and wacky characters that are so "lmao out loud epic funny relatable" like so: "Somebody open me up and put out the fire in my belly... Put it out with knives and bullets and strangling, or I will eat your nephews...". I guess 2013 humor and nostalgia is why people still defend it to this day.
Despite the numerous quality of life improvements available through mods, the game is ultimately a chore to play.

TL;DR
Really good and incredibly complex fighting game with a large learning curve and close to no tutorials. May feel very punishing and cheap at times so just remember to take a break and have fun. Definitely pick it up with a friend because it gets lonely sometimes.

Okay so I finally (hopefully) understood TEKKEN and what it's suppose to be as a game.
TEKKEN 7 is often perceived as this intimidating super-competitive and stressful game that requires razor-sharp focus with no flaws or balancing mistakes. However, this is not entirely true. Like any other game, TEKKEN 7 has its flaws and features. The primary objective is to have fun, and you can start by selecting a main character that suits you and practicing with them.
DON'T PLAY TEKKEN TOO EMOTIONALLY to the point of not having fun because you will ruin your experience and mental health.
The whole point is to have fun and that's it.
First you choose a main, someone who fits you personally and you like or think looks cool since practicing with your favorite character is a great way to stay motivated and make some progress. Discovering cool new things about your character that you can do, keeps it fresh along the way and helps you improve in the long run. Don't be afraid to change that character anytime you want.
However, sometimes the game can be frustrating when faced with unfair or overly punishing characters or moves. In those cases, it's essential to take a break and cool off since the whole point is to have fun.
With time and practice, you'll begin to notice the flaws in characters you previously thought were unbeatable. You'll learn new ways to counter their moves and playstyle, eventually beating them. This can be an incredibly satisfying experience that helps build up your confidence. You feel the rush, you feel like you're more capable now. The top tier pros that looked impossible to comprehend, now start to look more human. You get a feel for the game. Your first response to seeing something "op" or "unfair" is to find a way to counter it and style on the person using them. It's important to have a positive attitude and not to insult people or spam cheap moves. Remember, the objective is to have fun, not to win at all costs all the time. The game has its flaws, such as long loading times and an annoying soundtrack. However, you can always turn down the volume or play your music if that helps.
End note: Just have fun bastards >:(

TL;DR
Joking about this game is a lot more fun than actually playing it.
All aesthetics, no substance.

Angry Metal Man: Rises From The Dead And Cuts Metal Until It Stops Moving™ is an action-comedy hack-and-slash game about an edgy cyborg twink running around doing stuff. The story is over-the-top and cartoonish, with rough writing and confused messages. The gameplay is weak and mediocre, the soundtrack is unremarkable and the overall experience is just horrible.

The camera fails to show you or the enemies half the time and the game skips teaching you how to parry, a core mechanic and the only thing keeping you alive. Once you figure it out (likely by looking it up), it becomes obvious that it’s either made easy on purpose to make you feel good or the developers had no clue what they were doing. Probably a mix of both.

The game is full of pointless gimmicks, half-assed mechanics and band-aid fixes. I don’t know if it had a rushed development, nor do I care; it’s a boring experience with generic plot points, laughable dialogue (unintentionally so), unfunny dialogue (still unintentionally) and a whole lot of filler. The object-cutting mechanic might have been cool for its time, but by today’s standards, it’s barely interesting or impressive for more than five minutes.

In conclusion, don’t waste your money on memes.
