An absolutely amazing experience that everyone should have! 10/10

I have 100%'ed the demo.
I really like the idea that levels are basically part of the hub world and giraffes body stays stretched across the whole world. This allows the developers to have a very expansive "layer 3" in the game, similar to what was done in baba is you.

I'm putting "not recommend" because the knot mechanic is explained extremely poorly. I managed to understand that knot rings require a knot and non knot rings fail if you have a knot. But I just could not figure out what would count as a knot because the first level that introduces the knot mechanic just confused me, the first 2 knot loops that you go through don't even require you to make a knot?
I still don't get what is happening in that level and I had to come back to it multiple times, but that yielded zero new insights.
Later from reading the reviews here - I understood that there was a hint button. And after playing the level that I was stuck on in the hint mode the knot mechanic kinda made more sense.
I really hope that the developers could figure out a way to introduce such mechanics better (without the hint mode). It might require creating more levels tho.

Demo review:
Awesome meta progression, there is always some impactfull/cool reward you can work on.
The rogue-like aspect is also pretty nice, it's very satisfying to see your army grow over the course of the run.
Power-ups offer moderate build variety and all of the elements have their own gimmicks.
The only negative about the power-ups is that very often you get offered something you can't take advantage of right away.
Another thing that I did not like very much is that boss attack telegraphs are not the clearest, sometimes you would perform a dodge for the boss to wait for another whole bar to attack.
And it felt that some attacks didn't give you time to react.
But at least boss moves are synced up to the command rythm unlike it was in patapon.

Super fun game 😁 But Nubby is a ♥♥♥♥♥ sometimes...
Really rewarding to figure out all the challenges, I love games that push you to master their mechanics.

There are still some very annoying issues with the game. I had it lock-up twice, once on a very lucky challenge run forcing me to restart.

A lot of content to experiment with and with more coming, highly recommend 😁

It's a lot of fun at the beginning when you don't care a lot about this game. But once you do it's going to become a miserable experience. Try this game at your own risk.

This is definitely way better than soda drinker pro. All jokes aside, starbound is a fantastic game.
