Harmony is a simple yet beautiful game, evoking a similar experience to chess, but with a completely different feel. The mechanics are simple yet entirely novel and give you the feeling that there is endless strategy waiting to be exploited. Thinking a few moves ahead of your opponent is absolutely necessary, and prepare to have your strategic mind challenged by the unexpected turns that can be taken in the game; players can move opponents' pieces, move all the way across the board in one turn, and swap pieces out. These elements give players the opportunity for deceptions and surprise plays that are sure to keep gameplay interesting for many many games, even though a single game can be as quick as a few minutes. The overall experience is peaceful and compelling, especially with the attractive minimalist aesthetic and atmospheric soundscape.

Architect is a creative sandbox game offering a unique experience that is simultaneously comforting and challenging. It's hard to describe, and it's probably best if you just try it, but the gist is that you are building impossible structures a la Escher. There's a bit of a learning curve, but once you see how it works you get to enjoy this weird mind-expanding exploration.

You can see the passion of the developer in this game, from the general concept to the experiential touches like the ambient music, the cursor, the intuitive controls, and the ability to control every aspect of your Architect experience.

There is a lot of cool stuff about this game, but the UI and controls feel a bit clunky and primitive. It's nothing game breaking, but I do notice it. The graphics are a bit outdated by today, but there not bad. The gameplay is what shines about the game, and it is just so great. However, I only recommend it if you can appreciate the fact that this is more of a simulation than a shooter. The fun isn't always blowing stuff up, but the immersion. You realize how squishy you are, and it can make for some pretty intense moments.

This is my favorite game in a lot of ways. The developers are awesome and there are frequent updates. They are constantly improving the game and I am amazed and pleased by how it is coming along. If you are the creative type you willl absolutely love this game.

Short version: Do it, hit play now, and try it. It's free. Seriously. You might love it.

As it is, this game is both good and bad. The good being that it has a considerable amount of depth for being a free to play alpha game. The bad is that it doesn't play very smoothly and has fundamentally flawed gameplay. It is very hard to kill zombies without a weapon, weapons are in towns, and it is very hard to raid towns without a weapon. However, there are lots of cool guns and melee weapons and killing zombies is loads of fun (once you somehow get a weapon).
I also experienced some issues with playing multiplayer, but it is possible that it was my own internet connection.
Some other problems I had with the game are: poor visuals/effects, small map, very difficult, LOTS of zombies, I found a plane but I couldn't fly it, melee weapons do not extend your melee range; only increase damage, and several other small issues. Really, though, it's a cool game that pretty much a simplified DayZ and will hopefully get better with time. Should you buy it? Oh look, it's free. Try it out, keep it on your desktop for when your bored, and see if it becomes a great game (which I am expecting).

I love it, but I'd try and get it on sale. Worth $10? Possibly. Worth $2.50? Absolutely.

First, summary:
This is a very great game. Definitely fun, interesting combat, amazing skill tree, plenty of items, and much more. However, it does have its shortcomings. But every single shortcoming is cancelled out by just one feature - it's free. Why not get it?

Pros:
Awesome combat, with plenty of skills and weapons
Lots of items
Lots of skills
Massive passive skill tree
Addicting
Easy to run - very easy to run
Lots of enemies
Lots of different environments
Free!

Cons:
Not open world
Towns are sparce and small
No crafting
Normal mode is easy (in my opinion)
NO character creation, you just pick a class

This game is awesome. Gameplay wise, it is the best shooter I have ever played.

This game is very realistic. There is no minimap, it is very easy for you to die, you don't always respawn right away, and if you kill someone, you might not always no they are dead.
You respawn either trough reinforcement waves or when a teammate captures an objective, depending on the game mode. This means that you respawn at the same time and in the same place as a bunch of your teammates. Sometimes this means that there is a long wait while you're still dead.
These two traits of the game lead to incredible firefights, where either death could swing the match a certain direction and your teammates could be relying on you to survive. Not to mention the fact that a single bullet could kill you.

Another thing I like about this game is there are very defined roles. Team leader, breacher, gunner, sniper, assault, among others, are roles that you pick at the beginning of the game and can be changed when you die. Each role has different equipment availible to them. It creates an environment where a gunner is a gunner, not just another member of the team that happens to carry a light machine gun. This is kind of similar to the way Battlefield works, except there are more roles, each role is more clearly defined, and the success of each role is more vital to gameplay.
Of course, this leads to the fact that Insurgency rewards teamwork insanely well. If you get a team that is communicating and working together, you're almost guaranteed to win, and definitely have a good time. Interestingly, strong teamwork is not required for victory; just very helpful. So don't worry if you can't get your team to pull together to tightly.

There is also a kit customization system that is really cool. Pick a role, pick a primary and secondary, then add scopes, sights, silencers, armor piercing ammo, tracer rounds, laser sights, flashlights, and extra ammo to either one. Then pick an explosive like frag grenades, flashbangs, molotov cocktails, or RPGs, and finally some armor and a vest based on a point system that keeps it balanced.

The game types in Insurgency are another great part. Each of the nine game types is unique and interesting, and each demands a different attitude. All require a good balance of offense and defense throughout the team.

This game also has some beatiful graphics and audio. Kind of hard to explain it, but if you get the game I bet you'll agree with me.

Finally, the Insurgency community is excellent. Just a tad more casual than counterstrike, but allowing a high level of competition.

This all leads to an amazing game that truly has the best shooter gameplay I've ever experienced.

If I could change some things about this game, I would add
-A levelling system, with rewards for ranking up
-More guns (especially more interesting secondaries; right now there are just two pistols)
-More big maps
-An option for smaller teams. This game rewards teamwork so well, it would be great to have 3-5 person teams so you could easily pull some friends together who you can easily communicate and work with
-More attachments. This game has the coolest customization system, and it would just be so amazing with more attachments and stuff
-More vest and armor options (right now there are just two for each)
-Equipment like night vision, infrared scopes, motion trackers, claymores, airstrike calls, medic kits/defriblalators, etc. This would really set the customization over the top

If this stuff was added to the game, it would be way better than Battlefield (which I would say they are now equal. Insurgency has better gameplay, Battlefield has a lot of the stuff above).
However, this game is already so much better than Call of Duty. Definitely worth the fifteen bucks, pick it up right now.
