This game feels amazing to play, but other than the balance nightmare this game currently finds itself in with all the 50/50s and plus frames on block, I can't help but feel extremely unhappy with how chip damage works as it stands.

Too many strong moves are plus on block while being mid and dealing INSANE chip damage. The Heat mechanic is a compounding factor in this, and while I don't mind strong plus on block moves with high chip damage being subjected to Highs, Mids have no counterplay other than to sidestep which is extremely inconsistent in many cases. If you duck, you get hit. If you block, you get hit with chip and its still their turn. If you sidestep, you *may* still get hit. Being plus on a mid is already rare, but having a mid be plus on block AND deal chip damage is just too good of a tool imo. There are many examples that come to mind, but 2 that are worth mentioning is fwd fwd 2 for Viktor and Reina.

Chip damage from safe strings with high tracking and multiple mixups that launch make it feel like you have NO reward for being defensive. Most of the problematic moves/stances are just pointless to block, while evasion is EXTREMELY important (low/high crush + sidestep). You can also look to parry, but that's moreso relying on the conditioning of your opponent and can be risky depending on the parry. Let's not forget that CH pressure is stronger than ever, so keep startup frames/recovery frames in mind.

Overall, great game for sure! I love playing it, but it can be extremely frustrating and fun at the same time. Highly recommend to play despite my current cons since I'm sure this can all be addressed in the future in some way.

Love the character development and emotional bond driven towards every small aspect here.
