Better open world than an Ubisoft game.

Very fun game that scratches the management and tactical combat itches that I've had. The Co-op has been stable for almost my entire play time and I've really been enjoying the progression in Adaptive difficulty. I'm eager to play more and see what the DLC has to offer.

My main gripes have to do with the severe power scaling making combat never last more than a single round except in rare cases and the cursed village exploration segments being extremely unfun.

I'd love to see more interactions between your party, perhaps a cap on traits that each mercenary can have as well as events to gain and lose them. It's a little silly seeing two of my mercenaries fall in love and want to get married when they've had almost no interaction aside from working at stations in camp next to each other for two in game weeks. Some sort of simple chatter or even just a way to see what is influencing their opinions of each other would be great.

Thus far I've only engaged with the Tavern DLC, and while it does clearly impact the economy of the game, I had a lot of fun with it while building it up. I do wish that it was harder or took longer to grow, and that it was more connected to the rest of the game, but on a sale it was worth it in my eyes.

Possibly my favorite "hero shooter" in ages. And don't mistake, this is a hero shooter, mechs are set loadouts just like the characters in Marvel Rivals or Overwatch. The speed makes it so much more fun than Overwatch and the custom paintjobs for the mechs are really easy to obtain, so simple recolors are never out of reach.

I don't care for MashMak, but that's an aversion to extraction modes in general.
6v6 is a ton of fun and well worth the time spent learning matchups.

Even with the struggles in Act 3, this game is peak fantasy RPG.

I own this game 3 times. Vanilla, Royal on PS4, and now Royal on PC.

I don't replay many games that I've already played before. I have for this game. Now even better with mods!

Short, simple, and very addicting. Worth the cheap price for sure!

Honestly I can't say anything about this game that hasn't already been said.

What I can say is that I felt it was worth full price before any of the DLCs came out, now it's even better.

You can ignore Anarchy's Children though. It's very subjective.

EDIT: 10/20/18 Rimworld 1.0 Released!

Rimworld has grown from an excellent proof of concept to an incredibly well polished game with nigh limitless modding potential. It's carved a niche for itself and executes it with as much efficiency as my hat making empire.

Despite playing for over 2 years through development, I find myself coming back over and over to grow my colony and watch Randy burn it to the ground again and again.

If you've ever had a passing interest in Dwarf Fortress and like to simulate war crimes by forcing colonists to eat without a table, this is the game for you.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
How do I describe Rimworld?
Space Western + Dwarf Fortress Lite seems pretty accurate.

Rimworld is a game with boundless potential, and having watched it grow from early Alpha to the giant of a game it is now, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Highly recommend this game.
