Mine things. Build things with your hands. Build machines to build the things you just built with your hands. Explore. Research. Unlock new tech. Build a space elevator. Rip materials and hard drives out of the crashed drop pods of fellow explorers (they're probably fine). Murder Make friends with the local wildlife. Pet the lizard doggo. Name the lizard doggo. Get advanced materials for free from the lizard doggo. Scan the contents of the older hard drives for alternative recipes for the things you've spent hours automating only to realize that you now have much faster and more efficient means of making key components in items you need to progress the game. Gaze back upon your newbishly designed, conveyor belt spaghettified mess of a starter factory in horror. Swear to do better. Tear it down. Start rebuilding it better. Lose yourself in the ruthless pursuit of efficiency. Finish that job. Suddenly realize 12 hours have passed and you have 3 hours to rest, tops, before you have to clock in for your real job. Swear out loud, then swear you'll never put yourself through that again.

Take one last look at your factory before logging out. Notice one of your production lines is backed up for mysterious reasons. You'll fix it after you get home from work tomorrow, when you have more time. Heck, it's even your Friday. You'll have the whole weekend to keep pressing on. Start the project. Make real progress. You're rolling now, blowing through the tech tree, but wow, these recipes are getting expensive. Guess you'll need to expand and start another mega factory project. Wait... why did the power just go out? Lose yourself again.

Wake up 3 days later in the hospital. Seems you forgot to meet your own human needs, passed out in your chair, and couldn't be roused. OOPS.

Satisfactory: Not just a game. Not just a full-time job. An addiction.

10/10

A souls-type game with a twist: patient, rhythmic blocking and parrying to wear down your opponent's stamina prior to launching into attacks of your own is critical if you wish to succeed in combat. While there is a progression system in Sekiro, it plays much more like an action game than an action RPG. Souls vets will either love it or hate it for this.

As for me... I love it for what it is: Difficult, but fair and not overly challenging to learn if you've played previous souls games. Beautiful environments. A somber and frequently haunting story with a glimmer of hope if you make certain decisions. Similar enough to the rest of the FromSoftware library to be familar, and different enough to feel fresh.

Strong recommend if you like FromSoftware's Souls games.

> Recruit a friend or two
> Start VOIP call
> Start New Game
> Clear first few bombs with ease
> Encounter first "Who's on First" module
> Assume wrong homonyms. Explode, die, have a couple laughs, repeat.
> Progress a little more.
> Encounter password, complicated wires, Morse code, and needy modules.
> Struggle, explode several more times, get in heated arguments with friends.
> Keep trying, eventually clear them all.
> Reach Section 7: Exotic
> Rainbow Table
> Flip table, rage quit, ruin friendships, hire hitman.
> Life imprisonment

11/10 would ruin life again.

There's some wonderfully executed interactive story-telling to be found here. This game is full of amusing fourth-wall breaking moments and references to game design tropes. It's only really good for a few hours of continuous gameplay, but those hours are certainly enjoyable.
