As a long time Monster Hunter fan, i really love the way Wilds has evolved the franchise. With time, free title updates and the eventual expansion this could be the best Monster Hunter game to date. The current best in franchise is still MH4U imo, so it is funny that pseudo MH4U-2 has this much potential.

Pros:
- Gameplay, the most important part of a Monster Hunter game - The action and movement is the most fluid and perfected it has ever been and with Focus Mode, you have so many options to tackle all kinds of situations. Weapons have been iterated on to almost perfection by the main development team.
- Monster design and variety, albeit a low total amount of monsters, with how each one is unique and amazing, you don't really notice it that much. Lots of standout additions, the apexes in general are among my favourites. Title Updates will fill out the roster.
- Weapons and Armours are peak, for a base game the designs are insane. Easily best in franchise. Having both male and female armour options available is fantastic.
- Story, this game has an actual good story to tell, that will most likely be a bit divisive in the community, but it is clear a lot of effort was put into delivering a compelling story. Also good references to past games, memorable characters and even early franchise concepts from back in the day.
- Cinematic quality is amazing, beautiful and hype moments that will be remembered.

Neutral:
- Difficulty curve, it is debatable. Capcom has made a smart choice by frontloading the story in low rank as a pseudo tutorial, for beginner players this is the best entry point. Difficulty smoothes out in High Rank, where it feels more like past games. I would equal the difficulty of HR akin to Monster Hunter World.
- Wounds are generally a cool addition, but they appear too often on monsters, making them too strong and abusable at the moment.

Cons:
- Performance / Stability issues, Capcom has to put a lot of work into fixing things.
- Coop Story jank, they really should have figured out a good system by now.
- Non optimal default control settings, you have to fiddle with a lot of settings (and there are a lot thankfully!). For instance, Seikret control and tactical camera, etc.

Definitely recommended by me, personally a 9/10 . Still a bit rough around the edges in some aspects, but no dealbreakers to me - Capcoms priority has to clearly be optimisation, since this amazing game is drowned out by bad performance.
