Played the Isle on and off for years and the reoccurring biggest issue is unfortunately Dondi and by extension the dev team
The game has amazing potential but is hamstrung by a dev team unwilling to listen to constructive criticism* in any major capacit, having generally poor community relations and doubling down against any perceived slight

This is not the first drama with this team and its far from being the last

The game itself is fun for a few hours on the EVIRMA branch but there are also a litany of issues that have not been rectified that vary from annoying to game breaking

*This being said, the community can become rabid quickly and there are bad actors who just lash out at the devs

EDIT 2025: Currently enjoying the game, a lot of the same issues and new ones but strides are being made in the right direction

Bought the game in early access and the dev team went above and beyond my expectations. One of the best concepts for a game backed with a great dev team, soundtrack and gameplay.
You get better at the game but the challenge of the game doesn't decrease as your level increases thanks to the procedurally-generated caves and 5 levels of difficulty allowing for a unique experience every mission
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE

If you've always secretly wished to be a crab the size of a buick and the scourge of sharks, this is the game for you

I never beat Maze Madness as a kid so now I'm back for Round 2

While I really do enjoy Battleborn and the concept, I can't recommend it at the current price and playerbase size.

Due to it getting overshadowed with it's close release proximity to Overwatch (Despite them being very different genres of games) the playerbase is lacking which prevents you from doing half of the game (PvP)

The PvE portion of the game is fun and humorous but can get repetetive after multiple playthroughs

All in all, it's a good game but the release timing and price caused it to bomb

tl;dr: Good game but can't recommend it in it's current state

I first got Spore the day it was released in 2008 and I was slighly let down for what they had orginally promised but I've continued to play it since then and was overjoyed when I found it on Steam. It's a solid game and you can get some good playtime out of it

Managed to escape and gather resources

Crafted a shotgun and went on a roaring rampage of revenge

Got torn apart by a ninja bear

10/10 would go on a murderspree again

If you're unfamiliar with the Borderlands series, but have always wanted to get into it, this game is the perfect stepping stone into the Borderlands universe.
