The Steam Link is a definitely useful piece of hardware. When bundled with a controller such as the steam controller or just a regular controller makes it possible to play PC games wherever you want. I would recommend to only use it with a hard wire connection both ways. That said, when on sale, such as the frequent drops to $5 it's hard not to recommend to at least try it.
