Certainly not the best Halo by a long shot but a welcome addition to MCC with the upgraded visuals and higher frame rate. My issues with Reach stem with the core gameplay in multiplayer and additions made that took away from the classic Halo experience. The first nail in the coffin for the era of which Halo began to sink into a hole it took years to crawl out of if you will. The worst offender on the list is bloom by far, how anyone at Bungie saw this as something "skilful" is a mystery yet to be solved. Slowing your shots to make them more accurate is by far the dullest mechanic added to a Halo game when some guy can just run up to you and spam out all 14 shots and still maybe kill you anyway, gunfights end in frustration not satisfaction even on the winning side. Many times i've JUST managed to get the one over my opponent and instead of being happy I sit there counting my blessings because the RNG gods decided that my DMR was more accurate than my opponent by CHANCE. Next worst offender is armor abilities. These things make sense for custom games but online matchmaking? Halo has always been a fine balance of the guns, melee, grenades and map control, the added element of armor abilities just adds a randomness that isn't welcome at all in my eyes. No matter how hard you try to defend armor lock, you just can't. Why should you be able to become invincible mid gun fight? These are things that people fought for in the other Halo games through things like the overshield? You didn't just spawn with it. My final issue is an issue that isn't caused by Reach but by The Master Chief Collection itself, I'm an EU player and I've had MCC on Xbox since 2014. I was excited to play MCC on PC because I was hoping that there would be a much larger EU fanbase because since 2014 on Xbox I've only been able to ever get into US servers and the hitreg is abysmal at times. Having played a decent amount of this game so far I can happily say that 75% of the time I get into EU servers(which is something I can say I managed to witness maybe 10 times on Xbox) but why is there still 25% of a chance I'll end up in a US one? Are you trying to tell me there isn't enough EU players on this game to find 7 other EU players when I'm playing at 11AM on a weekend GMT?
Reach has some fantastic custom games and non matchmaking multiplayer. I have vivid memories of being in various infection maps all over the various locations in forge world and having an absolute blast. Reach is deffo the winner when it comes to Infection custom games for me personally, Halo 3 had good ones but the forge was too basic to allow for some of the stuff that the ones in Reach had.

As for the Campaign I can't say I've always been a massive fan of the Reach campaign, it's a blast in co-op but lacks any real intrigue for the story. Most of the characters are pretty generic and you don't get much time with them before they start getting killed off and you don't really feel any attachment to them at that point. The only character you can really feel for is Noble 6 your player character and the credit can only go so far for that as it's yourself so obviously you're going to be invested in him/her. The set pieces are fun, legendary is a riot with friends, the switch ups in game play are welcome and it's over all relatively decent. Better than Halo 5 atleast lol.

Reach holds a special place in my heart for a reason that could be considered good or bad, but for me Reach was the game that made my love for the original trilogy blossom even further. Reach showed me that Halo could be tampered with to incorporate cool new mechanics and crazy abilities, but nothing can beat spawning with nothing but your BR and your nades and going at it, taking down a Scarab and blowing it up from the inside out, driving a Warthog across exploding platforms to the incredible music. Reach is a good Halo game and an okay one to start out on, but once the others arrive on PC I feel like Reach may fall back into the smaller community that it originally became back in the 360 days
