Surprisingly easy to pick up and incredibly quick to load and easy on resources.
Given that I was looking at Nuclear Option or DCS that was quite the surprise.

Can very much recommend this as an easy sim to pick up.

That being said I wish mechanics were better explained. While there are scenarios for the basics a few of them are basically "figure it out or die" situations. I had to look up outside of the game that there even is an auto-hover mode and how to use it or how to manually control nozzle angle.

Also I'd love to have some kind of voice for the mission lines given over radio. A text in the top right corner of the screen is kinda hard to read when you're also flying a plane at the same time. Don't text and fly :p

Phenomenal game that excels in puzzels with evironmental story telling and knowledge-based progress.

So everyone wanting to ever play it should be very wary of spoilers!
It also contains some content that ppl could find scary (big oceans, some scary creatures, space?) but that is confined to some segments of the game. You can't really skip them though.

While I have played the base game and then the DLC it is possible to play both at the same time or right after each other.

Fun with quite the active community. Your experience will vary a lot depending on what kind of people you surround yourself with though.
I keep hearing not so great things about public lobbies but once you got some friends and a group going you can just pivot from there and avoid publics. You can find lots of funny games, worlds, avatars or other cool and clever things people make. People can get *very* creative and the performance usually only suffers in large groups from my experience and you got options like avatar culling and shield settings to compensate.

The developers work regularly on new tools and stuff. They also offer a premium subscription (VRC+) for optional features and some gimmicks like sprays or in-game printable pictures which seems fair given the game itself is free. Recently they also started to introduce an inventory with items you can collect and use in every world which is also mostly behind the subscription. I do worry a bit where the game is heading in the name of becoming more profitable. But that's just my pessimism.

When it comes to creating things many of what are probably safeguards for preventing trolling and abusive interactions between players sometimes do annoy me. For which the community usually comes up with somewhat whacky workarounds.

If you're not the type that likes to do social interactions your options might be limited though. I would not play this game if it weren't for the others I interact with. It's a social game afterall.

Potentially chaotic but fun (with friends, not alone).

The fallback to TTS only when you're dead is a really neat touch imo.
Can feel a bit repetitive when played too often though. Very fun in smaller doses though!

Takes a lot of time investment to finish especially when playing with friends.
Quite fun if you enjoy RPG and getting into the lore.
The fighting feels unique (it's a precursor to baldurs gate 3) but the elemental system goes a bit crazy sometimes and it feels like everything is exploding and going to end up burning sometimes :D

A bit simple but surprisingly fun!
Doing it with friends is obviously more fun but even solo it is doable and enjoyable.

Might feel a bit repetitive after a while even with procedural mountains but the modding community might help out with that. Also more than 4 players are possible with mods.

Fun factory game with potential for huge and intricate builds.
The dev also seems to never stop optimizing things & working on the game which is great!

The factory must grow!

Well made with quite some details here and there and very fun to play. Especially the options to waste time in the "lobby" are quite neat. Graphic is nothing special but has a good and consistent style to it.

Might get boring to some after a while but keeps getting assignments each week and updates every now and then as well as lots of side objectives or events during a mission.

In short a great game to play every now and then with friends or just randoms online!

An excellent way of dipping into VR.

The basic controls are explained and the rest can be explored on your own without much trouble.
Things just can get creepy at times... but so is the life of a wizard?

Elite: Dangerous looked from afar like a pretty grindy game (in terms of earning more money) yet while I still think that this is true ED offers suprisingly differnt ways to earn it compared to the usual MMO I played, including:
  • Exploration

  • Missions

  • Bounty Hunting

  • Trading

  • And many more I'm to lazy to list...

In the end everyone has to decide for themselves if they think they'll like it (especially the flight model since 90% you do is flying).
I'm happy with my purchase (but haven't reached any "end game" content yet) and community-driven things like the Fuel Rats[fuelrats.com] give an awesome impression of the community.

For Beginners it might be a while until you know what is killable for you and what is not as shipe sizes aren't everything.
