I had a slight psychotic break involving a banana when I was around 14 years old. Be me at 12 am, parents are asleep. I sneak downstairs for a snack, and grab a banana. Sitting on my bed, I idly search for the butt end by feel. I touch the stem, but as I run my fingers down the back of the banana... I feel what I can only describe as a spine. Pronounced, slightly ribbed, and firm.. I ran my fingers along at least 5 vertebrae. In a sudden fit of terror, I threw the banana and ran into the guest room. For ten minutes, I stay completely still and stare at the door left ajar, and eventually I snap out of it and realize how exaggerated my reaction was. I expect for the banana to be deformed, and walk back into my room to see what kind of peel condition it had. Upon inspection, the banana had absolutely no indication of any bumps, ridges, or spines. To this very day I wonder whose spine I felt, because that banana was absolutely boneless.
