No story spoilers but I will go over some of the systems in the game.

Graphics are great, game is visually stunning I’m running it on medium settings, my CPU is 7% weaker than the minimum requirements. Game runs smooth but has the occasional crash, hopefully between AMD and Take 2 they will work to reduce compatibility issues and optimize the game for PC over time. The game auto-saves even in combat so its not a huge deal.

All conversations with the characters are fully voice acted.

It’s a tactical RPG but also a deck builder, each individual character gets their own 8 card deck that you can cater to your play style or the situation. The party size is 3.

There are general missions in between the story segments where you can experiment with different group comps and farm cards and resources to upgrade and modify your cards.

The tactical combat is rewarding. As you get more familiar with the game and the strategies you get a real sense that you are improving, not just in leveling and powering up your characters but also in how you strategize and use the cards and the environment to keep control of the various scenarios the game throws you into.

As you progress the game offers you higher difficulty settings. With increased difficulty comes higher rewards including more gloss which resource you use to buy cosmetics you’ve unlocked.

There is a whole friendship system where your character builds friendships with the various midnight suns and avengers characters in your team. You get to hangout with them and give them gifts, there is tons of dialogue, all fully voiced.

The hangouts and friendship system can be a bit of a drag as there are power increases for your characters locked behind them and there appears be hours and hours of dialogue recorded for this game. However, they do fulfil the player fantasy of being about to hang out with your favourite Marvel hero. There will be a big appeal for some.

There are a lot of different systems in the game for upgrading your characters, their cards and increasing your friendship. At times it can feel a little bloated.

Now onto some of the more negative aspects of the game, the game has three different editions, Standard, Digital+ Edition and Legendary Edition on steam. If you buy the standard edition you cannot upgrade to one of the other editions later. You can buy the season pass but it costs more than the retail cost of the base game.

Any cosmetics you unlock in game you have spend gloss which is a freemium currency inside the game. You get tons of gloss in the game from playing and doing missions – more if you increase the difficulty. However, there are other skins shown in the game which are only purchasable with eclipse credits the premium currency you can buy for real money.

This is a full priced retail game. It’s not a live service game nor is it an MMO so the premium monetization is absolutely disgusting.

Overall great game, I recommend buying the standard edition as its not like you can show off your shiny skins to anyone because its a single-player game.

This is certainly the current definitive edition of the worms franchise. A fun turn based strategy game that is full of fun but also filled with depth.

Best played with mates in a free for all work murder spree.

If you like Dungeon Keeper or Warcraft III this parody RTS Dungeon Sim hybrid will keep you entertained. I recommend playing the campaign through Co-Op with a mate.

Early Access Review
I'll start with this game is an MMORPG so yeah expect some pleasant grinding. It is also a Pokemon clone and in fairness Pokemon has needing some monster catching competition for a while. The combat is deeper and better than the Pokemon games. The Co-op is really fun, the 2v2 battles make for much more interesting battles.

If you are looking for a game similar to Pokemon but meatier this is the game for you. It also helps that you don't have to own a Switch or any other Nintendo hardware to play this game.

I'll add that this game is in Early Access but the core game itself looks really polished. However don't be surprised to find the odd bug.

I've played the prelude twice and I can't get to the menu to start a new campaign. I just wanted to play the game co-op. I've tried copying someone else's save game and that does not fix the issue either. The game just keeps looping the prelude.

Utter garbage.
