Switching from RNG spawns to a fixed layout and production chains is a huge improvement over the first game. Now you no longer get screwed because RNG hates you, but you can plan your strategy and try to get the best times.

Additionally, this game fixes many little annoyances of the first game (for example switches are no longer blocked just because a train is nearby and curves no longer demolish additional tiles).

And with workshop support, there is content for hundreds of hours.

Update 11/2021: The game is still receiving support with bugfixes, QoL improvements, workshop contests and even occasionally new features. 100% recommendation :)

I bought this because I liked the "The Room" games and expected this to be of the same quality. But I was heavily disappointed.

The further you progress into the game, the puzzles make less and less sense. There were multiple puzzles where even after looking up the solution on youtube it didn't make sense.

Sometimes you get an item (for example a lever) that looks like it perfectly fits into a spot where you're currently missing such an item, but it turns out that it doesn't actually fit and you can't even use it until you solve 3 other puzzles first.

On one puzzle which you solved in multiple increasingly difficult steps, the game automatically moved the camera away from the part you just solved to a different place in the room, making you think you now have unlocked something there and have to continue there. But instead you had to manually go back to the place you have just been and pick up an item that was unlocked there.

There were puzzles where doing something on one end of the room would cause a change on a different end of the room without there being any visual indication that the two parts are related.

There are puzzles that I only solved by trial and error or by "well I read those numbers and I have this item I can interact with - I don't see any logical reason why those should be related, but they are the only things I can interact with now, so I guess they must form a puzzle"

The new second lense that you have which allows you to look into the past seemed a cool feature at first, but then it was basically only used for either "simon says" or as extended form of pixel hunting (pixel hunt without lense, then look again with lense #1, then look again with lense #2).

The story just suddenly ends right at the point when it becomes interesting.

If you love turn based strategy but hate "99% chance to hit the enemy, but you still missed", then you should give this game a try.
