TL:DR DLC is great but bugs literally make it unplayable through soft locking.

Ok, to be clear, I actually REALLY like this DLC. It's super fun, and I love the changes they've made to Yuan Shao and Cao Cao, addition of Liu Yan, changes to systems, etc. There's just one crucial problem that makes it basically unplayable: the bugs and crashes. At this point, in the two Cao Cao games I've played, the same bug that crashes my game EVERY TIME essentially soft locks me and I literally can't continue to the next turn. Basically, say an enemy army is led by one of my spies. When the enemy army attacks, I get the spy extraction screen before the battle as usual: Extract as Reinforcements, Extract Spy, or Do Not Extract. No matter what I choose, the MINUTE I choose an option, the game instantly goes to desktop. And because this is happening on Yuan Shao's turn after I've used pretty much all my movement for my armies, there is nothing I can do. The fact that they can release this DLC with such a gamebreaking bug is pretty ridiculous. I don't know if I'm the only one with this problem, but it ONLY happens with this DLC's start date.

Overall, pretty good DLC. Some bugs, such as one of my eunuchs spawning as the Imperial Mother, but I personally didn't see that many game-breaking bugs. Could use some rebalancing tho as the Yellow Turbans kinda just get ♥♥♥♥♥♥, especially when the Emperor unleashes He Jin on their asses. I won my first campaign as Emperor Ling in 64 turns (or 66 don't remember) so it's kinda short, but maybe as one of the other factions it lasts longer cause you have to defeat the emperor? Anyway, cool DLC. They should make it harder to reform the empire as the emperor because it seemed super easy to fix my economy and pretty much completely obliterate all bureaucrat influence in my court and replace them with dynasty supporters, and once you do that you're pretty much set. However, it also probably helped a lot that I only really used the one imperial army that steamrolled everything in it's path, but obviously that is what it's meant for, however having only one amazing army wasn't a debuff or anything in any way, which I thought it would be. Also, one thing to note is that the imperial army was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ strong that I mostly just delegated battles because they were so one-sided there was no point in fighting it out, which would definitely make the game stale after awhile.

Pretty fun. Still a wip, but has great potential!

It may be a bit over-priced, and the DLC are sometimes also over-priced as well, but this game is great. It's just what Paradox does: make great games that cost a bit too much, but are too good to pass up.
