Sonic Frontiers is SUCH a refreshing, and one of the greatest comebacks Sega and Sonic Team have made! The music, THE MUSIC!!! The singers (Kellin Quinn, ONE OK ROCK) and the veteran composers (e.g., Jun Senoue)... outstanding! Ian Flynn? The goat? Tyson Hesse, Evan Stanley on the Sonic Frontiers prologue: Divergence project?

IGN or any other entertainment/game media website can give this game "piss-poor" or "mediocre" ratings. They have no taste, honestly. This game is very well put together, and the combat mechanic is pleasant. The number of options given to players to progress in the story is such a nice touch. The developers took into consideration players who want a slow-steady adventure and players who are in it to speed-run and progress through the story in the quickest matter (totally fine)!

I am only on Chaos Island (third island), but this game is a solid 9.75/10. Hats off to the entire team for making the Blue Blur persevere once more! In my heart, this game is the 2022 game of the year. Laugh all you want, but this was what I yearned for...

Super Sonic. My god. The combat (like no other Sonic game) and the metal music are insane. This game has THE definitive way to play as Super Sonic. I feel like a broken record, but it is so exhilarating to punch, kick, throw shock waves, cook up combos and slam bosses (e.g., Giganto, Wyvern) into f***king oblivion.

From what I have played, the Cyberspace levels are pretty good. They are completely optional (unless you consider yourself a completionist).
Sonic does lack some air control (which is a slight bummer).
Nonetheless, combat (skill tree), upgradeable defense and speed? Spectacular.

The references and character overhauls were an exquisite touch. The amount of callbacks Sonic makes as he monologues and traverses along the island plains is just nostalgia-jerking! I hope they work to improve the character chemistry in future titles further, especially with Knuckles and Tails (and others)!

Again, I will update my review once I have finished the game (or not). However, sonic Frontiers truly delivered, and while it might not be for everyone (considering it is rather difficult to cater to fans...especially Sonic fans), you did well, Sonic Team! Anyone picking up Sonic for the first time or returning to the series, please find a way to experience peak. This game is an S tier game right here ladies and gentlemen.

Hot take: Chuzzle is better than Bejeweled and Puyo-Puyo

This game is so nostalgic and is especially more enjoyable when modded. It really gives you a complete definitive version once certain settings such as SFX fixes, physics, cutscene HD revamps, etc. are implemented. This game has received different ports on different consoles that have enhanced and downgraded various things (which has done an overall disservice to the game).
