I struggle recommending the game anymore. Would be a neutral review if possible.
I used to love it, I still do, but I can't get over how much the playerbase has lost their balls.
Noone engages, noone fights, noone flanks.
It's "Sit in corner set 50 traps wait shotgun boom ded haha lol so much fun go next".
Or it's "Sit in building/bush/whatever set 50 traps wait sniper boom ded haha lol <you get the point>".
I used to love the strategic, slow, angle driven gunfights, I loved one tapping people with a revolver mid push.
Now they all scurry and hide and tuck their tail at any sign of danger. And it only gets worse in higher "ranks" or mmrs.
I love the game. I hate the cowards that call themselves "Hunters".

And it's not even the playerbases fault. It's the devs who absolutely intend for this. iirc the owner of Crytek plays the game just like this.
I am sick and tired of watching my favourite games crash and burn.

This review could have been positive and negative.

Pros:
The visuals are nice (in-game), the soundtrack is banger, the little text bubbles are hilarious.

Cons:
This is just Brotato, but with a (somehow) even less legible UI in shops and without workshop support (yet? idk).

If you already own Brotato, there's not a reason to buy this game yet. If you don't, honestly I'd pick Brotato over this (imo it's better and I think also cheaper).
The game does have a great theme, soundtrack, and variety in items from what I could tell. I hope I can come back to this game in a few months and the Shop UI is overhauled, the icons more easily identified and workshop (and mod) support added, because I really want to like it. It's just not different enough.

It's been 5 hours since I finished this game and I STILL cannot stop thinking about it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ phenomenal.

Edit: It's been 3 days since playing this game, and it single-handedly made me a HUGE fan of psychological indie horror. I fear I am banished to chasing this high forever.

Sick game. Great visuals, snappy gunplay, fun cards, nice ruleset (love duels), do not see myself stopping playing this anytime soon. Alpha was great, release slaps.

Funny, how after blocking all linux users from playing your game, that did NOT fix your cheater problem! Almost like linux isn't the problem, but hey. I'm sure you're still having fun f*cking every linux and Steam Deck user in the *ss. I have 2.2k hours on EA, and a few more on steam, and you have successfully brought me to not want to play anymore.
Well, besides the fact that, with my 2.5k+ hours on record, I still have not gotten a SINGLE heirloom, but that's besides the point.

Alright. I've seen some reviews i don't really agree with. So let's do this!
(Btw of course it was their opinion, and i respect that, but I still wanted to show you my point of view.)

Pros:
-You don't drop out of a plane/bus/whatever, you decide right at the beginning if you want to go into big cities and have full-on action from the start or take your time to loot in smaller loot areas. It depends on your style of play
-There's no pay-to-win, though it's free (YASSSSSS)
-Exo, the owner of the official RoE-Twitter (@roe_tencent), answers to almost all feedback and suggestions of players and supporters on Twitter and sends them through to the devs
-The different kits bring different possibilities for different areas on the map
-I (personally) like the weaponhandling in the game, but that depends on your taste, because the recoil is pretty low
-Winning feels rewarding, even though up to 4 people win in each round, because the helicopter you get away in has 4 seats. You can still kill everyone and get away then though. (Yes, its not that kind of 'Last man standing'BR, there are rounds in which no one wins because they all die of the zone)
-The voice chat has high quality (in difference to Apex btw fix that respawn)

Cons:
-The zone doesn't progress, it gives you time to get in, and once the timer runs out, it instantly starts damaging (damage gets higher over time)
-You can't really see inside of the zone, which is because of animations and blureness and stuff on the zone end.
-The anticheat wants pretty much information and pretty high acces to your pc, so decide if that is worth it for you

But, if you decide that that privacy thing doesn't bother you, definitely give this a try. You won't regret it.

Sehr witziges Spiel für private Gruppen, online gibt es leider viele Trolle. Das ist jedoch kein Problem des Spiels selbst, sondern die der Community.
Wer TTT mit ein wenig Horror mag, wird dieses Spiel lieben.
