Will update when I finish, but frickin good.

Yeah this game can be tedious at times but most bosses are super fun, the movement is awesome, the combat has evolved a lot since Hollow Knight and is more technical. If you played HK and wanted more of a challenge, this is for you.

Really enjoying the game right now and there is a very good foundation here to keep playing for a good while.

I hope the devs continuing to support this game and improve some of its perhaps weaker aspects. A lot of potential here for way more cool ideas too, so fingers crossed.

We all dive together or not at all

Sony does not want everyone diving together

Actually garbage

Was not a big fan of this game at launch. When I tried to boot it back up to get into it, it would not even work. Here is a tip if it is not booting, disable the High-Res textures or change your keyboard to the US layout.

Or just go play MCC. It is on sale for $20 pretty often and has much more content than this

UPDATE: They did it! Enigma be gone

----

First of all, I love this game. Honestly, probably one of my favourite games. But as someone who plays on Linux now (and has a Steam Deck), it is appalling to me that Capcom has updated this game to essentially break performance on all systems, especially Linux and lower spec systems. This game is marked Steam Deck verified but that should probably be removed now.

This game runs notably worse than before. And for what reason? To add crappy DRM? Why am I a loyal, purchasing customer penalized for legally purchasing your game? Listen, I don't like DRM but I understand why it exists. But retroactively adding a crappy performing one to a game, essentially tainting the game forever as this is the last update, is vile. Does Capcom even care about this PC version?

Unless they do something, my review is going to be negative, which I am sad to do. This experience has really enlightened me to why people crack and pirate.

Original Review: This is great, for sure worth you're pennies :D

Don't like the game?

I missed the part where that's my problem.

I like this a lot, and I was preparing myself for some disappointment. I have not finished the game yet but I have enjoyed every moment thus far.

My favourite campaigns of previous games are probably Halo CE and Halo 3. I love the sandbox and combat in both of those games a lot, and feel that most of the missions are highly replayable. This game's sandbox feels like it uses Halo 3's combat as a base with a mix of a bit of CE and H2 maybe, and keeps some of the additions from Reach, 4 and 5 while keeping the game balanced. In summary though, it feels like a return to sandbox and combat of H3 with extra gadgets and features that really work.

I have been playing on Heroic and find the difficulty just right. For a returning Halo player, this is probably the difficulty I'd recommend to start with. I could definitely attempt a more difficult playthrough with Legendary or Skulls, but plan to do so later.

One big concern of mine is the replayability of missions, especially when they will eventually allow you to replay them in an existing Save. I think they are great, but I am worried if replaying them will be less exiting and much shorter. A large part of the game is between missions while you travel around, killing enemies and re-taking outposts. These activities are fun, but appear to be a "One and Done" deal which makes sense. The game is so fluid, all the side content you encounter feels like it adds to whatever mission you are playing. I hope replaying missions could also potentially mean resetting parts of the map to capture. I'll have to wait and see though how co-op plays and update my review then; I have some concerns about it.

My biggest nit-pick is honestly just the biome diversity. It seems stupid to complain about but all previous Halo games had a decent amount of diversity and cool locations to visit that stood out from one another. While I do not find the world too large, I do believe they could have made it smaller and had separate locations with different biomes (which would be really cool for replayability). Even just drastic biome changes in the existing world from forested areas, to deserts and frosted tundras would have been cool. The good news is the Campaign DLC is an oppurtinity to change this.

Anyways, if you have Game Pass you should play this. And even if you do not, I believe it is well worth the price of a full game.

While in some regards it is not as great in atmosphere to Halo CE's Campaign, it's levels are highly re-playable and each different, it has the best sandbox of the series (thus far), and is definitely the most bombastic. Unfortunately, it takes a back seat in regards to the narrative and is not as strong as Halo 2's great writing and expansion of the universe. That being said, it is hard for me to put any other Campaign above this one when you can play it with 3 of your friends. (343, please add 4 player coop to H:CE and H2!)

As for multiplayer, people are divided between H2 and this one. Personally, I think Halo 3 is better due to its better balancing of weapons, even if some of them feel weak (I am looking at you shotgun) or sound like you are microwaving popcorn (come on AR!). Personally, H3 is very close to the ideal Halo multiplayer experience and is the best one available for the time.

If you have not given Halo a shot, I would say to start with Combat Evolved, but this is a great place too :)

While I have not spent a tremendous amount of time in VR games, this game is easily on my list of favourites. I played it on the Index, which I would recommend if you are itching to get one and have some money to burn; Valve crafted an awesome experience with this game for it. The bar of entry is quite high for the game and I can understand the frustration with Valve limiting a Half-Life game to an expensive medium.

However, I believe the experience with this game is much stronger as a VR title and would not work without it. I imagine it feels revolutionary in the same way HL1 and HL2 did when they released many years ago. This is thanks to Valve's creativity when bringing a Half-Life game to VR. They have barely made any games for the past decade but this title would deceive me into thinking they are comprised of VR connoisseurs, which maybe I should say they now are.

I feel that porting traditional games to VR is difficult since they usually do not translate well. An FPS is probably closest to VR games but even those require a ton of work to feel natural in a VR experience. It is a lot more engaging to be able to interact with items and naturally move yourself in VR like you would in real life. And beautiful vistas have a similar effect to if you were there seeing them in real life, taking in the scale of huge ship or city that spans for miles. VR games appear to be more difficult to develop, yet it is way easier for them to satisfy me by just giving me the illusion that I am really there.

City17 (the location of the game) is probably what separates this game from other VR titles the most for me. I played quite a bit of Boneworks and would consider that one of the best sandbox games for VR. I would say Alyx is similar to it, but it is very clear to me the difference a large AAA studio can have on a project. During my playthrough of Alyx, I was fully enveloped in the world and would nearly forget I was in a video game.

Of course, if you are a big HL fan I would no doubt recommend this game. And if you managed to stay spoiler free all this time, you are definitely in for a treat.
