Making both games into the same deal was maybe the best decision they took,
Dragon quest I Remake? It's just DQ1, brother. It's simple and to the point (most of the time) with a tinge of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ balancing (you'll get through it!!).

Now DQ2 Remake, from very much forgettable to one of the best entry in the series. The added scenes, storybits and all the new encounters makes it a must-play if you ever intend to continue on the Erdrick Trilogy or played the original already.Caradoc is finally useful!

My only gripe right now is how draconian difficulty is made up , can we please drop the experience cut/penalty? I rather have a harder time to grind levels than making it longer.(god please, i dont want to face 3 boss hydras at once just to lvl up in the postgame)

Edit: The post-game true ending broke me, man. This is just the best remake they've ever done.

Excellent game, but questionable ending, although I've seen worse piece of media.

Supergiant delivered not only a good sequel, but also making it somehow fresh for people who played the previous game, since both main characters plays differently :
Zagreus being dash-centered, able to dodge most things and Melinöe being more of a powerhouse, with charged attacks, specials, cast, hexes and more. Both having their own strenghts and weaknesses.

Art direction has been polished, while keeping a pretty simplistic UI design. Voice acting is GREAT as always. In any case, I easily see this as a contender for indie category in the upcoming Game Awards (maybe a slight shot at GOTY?). Yes, the game is that good.

Edit: As of Patch 1 post-release, the updates to the ending makes it more bareable and imo better written in that way.

Same story, same demons (with an added selection). Apart from that, I'd hardly call this a simple remaster.

The battle system has been completely overhauled and feels more fluid than the original game (still remains simple in essence, though). The shift from 2D overworld to 3D has been well handled too.
That and the multiple other QoL improvements, like fast travelling, Premium devil chart, or fusing w/o having a max loyalty demon makes the game a way more enjoyable experience.
My only issue is the monetization but all that stuff is not necessary and is more of a SEGA/publisher problem.

Otherwise, if you're looking to get into a classic SMT (Shin Megami Tensei) game and/or if you're not a fan of turn-based RPGs, then this is a good pick.

I've waited for this remake for YEARS, and I honestly can't wait for DQ1+2 to conclude the Erdrick Trilogy. From the art direction to the story, soundtrack and nostalgia, I can definitely tell you alot of effort was put into this, both for long-term fans and newcomers.

Dragon Quest will be and always be my top 1 JRPG series (please make the Zenithian Trilogy next).

One of the better (if not the best) Roguelike out there, mix the fast-paced gameplay with good story-building and you get this gem! Compared to Hades 2 (in early access as of writing this), the former game still holds on its own, in example: Calls becomes Hexes or limiting dash to one but adding a sprint option and of course different weapons (and their aspects).

In short, both games plays differently although the core concept doesn't really change (apart from the balancing in the latter, which is subject to changes later on). Plus, the music and the character concept/voice-acting is phenomenal, possibly one of my favorite aspect of the series.

If you are tempted to try this out, don't give up early on, you'll get stronger as you go through runs and you'll get used to everything very fast (don't be like me and rush into aoes though). In fact, you may also expend the difficulty if you wish too, but it's better if you see it by yourself. All in all, a time-sink I can really recommend.

P.S: Yes, you can also pet Cerberus.

Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Heavensward, and thrilling Stormblood expansions up to level 70 for free with no restrictions on playtime.

Let me tell you a story,
Zero Time Dilemna was supposed to be good, but both the story and gameplay elements are crap.
All because of a snail...
Life is simply unfair, don't you think?

P.S: Don't ever cook again.

Chill game, but I feel like they overloaded it with TOO MUCH content (unlocking truffles/eggs just before the finale, one-time mechanics that are half-assed, etc).

Late-game diving will feel a bit like a chore, but even then, the fish farm trivialize the ingredient grind. Some bosses are horrendous though (the mantis shrimp can go ♥♥♥♥ itself), so here's hoping they tweak them out in the future.

The restaurant part is fine too, employees are always going to outperform you provided you sent them to training beforehand (having Drink Serving/Cocktail Serving & Wash dishes OR Wasabi refills to maximize your laziness status).

Managing the dishes you want to be served will always rely on its price, which makes early-game fish basically useless.

The ambiance/art-direction of this game is just really outstanding though and makes it worth it in the end. I wish there was more sea-based exploration games nowadays like this one!

Probably one of the best game I've ever played:

- Lone adventurer provides tons of story, character development and stays fresh even in multiple playthroughs thanks to the class diversity (including mods) and possible story-alignment. If you want a legit experience/first-go at the game, I heavily recommend starting with this.

- If you play with friends though... It's like you are railroading a D&D campaign from start to finish, which means you won't be able to appreciate the finer details of this game... Although it's still amazingly fun how chaotic it may get!

I don't regret pulling all-nighters.
