Amazing world to explore but the late game is just a gambling simulator in the least fun possible way.

A game where you can go anywhere and do anything as long as you don't do it out of order, avoid the invisible walls, approach NPCs from the right direction to avoid combat, download mods to help with bugs/performance, save incredibly frequently and on separate files for the inevitable remaining bugs and crashes, and are fine replaying parts after you don't do something the way the developers intended, again.

I don't think this game is all bad. I actually enjoyed most of my time playing. Its skill/perks system is really impressive and fun. I had a great time progressing and discovering interesting locations and people. So many different options and paths to complete quests were offered, and I really wish other RPGs attempted to reach that level of choice. The difference between FNV and those other games, though, is the moment you step off one of the many tracks laid out for you in the Mojave Wasteland your save is nuked.

I enjoyed my time with this game, but not enough to play it over and over again to fix another issue the developers overlooked. I understand they didn't have a lot of time to work on the game, their resources were limited, and the game itself is pretty old at this point. That doesn't make it a good, though.

This is one of the best visual novels to date. The story is in-depth. The characters are complex, not just some bouncing boobs with no personality. The visuals and audio harmonize to create the perfect ambience. An absolute must-buy for any visual novel connoisseur.

Story is average. Only extraordinary thing about the game is the artwork. Whomever's idea it was to link saving to a limited use ability needed frequently throughout the game was a complete dumbass. Occational traps that are unnavoidable unless player is extremely careful (meaning they never have the use of the advantage of no fall damage) which doesn't mix well with the saving feature. Backtracking. Backtracking. Backtracking.
