Early Access Review
It's 1am, I'm ranting uncontrollably to myself in my kitchen about how much I love this game and my fingers are sore from playing for the first time in months. I can't believe my three favorite Gizz songs made it in. The Revamp Update has Revamp'd my love (and obsession) with Ultrakill. You should buy this game.

Bungie is taking a very concerning route by removing old storylines to make room for new ones at the pricepoint of a new game, and very little new story.

The lazy writing has me upset that I can't ask for a refund after spending 30 hours in this game

Cross Code, while early in developement, is no doubt promising in all aspects.

The controls are fluid, making travel fairly quick and enabling fast-paced, challenging combat.
Special abilities that can be "Switched" out of combat allows you to decide what way is best to take on a group of enemies, before you attack them.
Elements (and shields/guards) allow for unique weaknesses in most enemies to be discovered, both in common enemies and in bosses.
The storyline (so far) is gripping and will leave you with question after question.
Stats, level, and equipment will only take you so far. Personal skill will be the deciding factor for higher level enemies, large groups of enemies, and bosses.
The artwork is absolutely fantastic. ABSOLUTELY. FANTASTIC.
Combat made fun by unique arsenal of powers where you develope your own style.
Combat made fun by smooth controls and fast-paced action.
Platforming is a large part of exploration and treasurehunting where a fall doesn't lead to a loading screen, but instead an instant nearby respawn.
Puzzles are unique and involved as they play on the game's combat and elements for different affects in some cases.
I cannot stress how much I like the combat in this game.

Seriously, buy it.

It's a great game, and some of the most fun I've ever had for 20 bucks. I'd happily pay more for it.
Even though it is early access, and it is lacking in story, and it is lacking in areas to explore, it's well worth your money and the wait.

Just play the damn game.
