There's no offline progression.

I understand the dev's reasoning of wanting people to see the visual progression of the game, but from (what I assume is) the middle on the pace is too slow for me to want to bother with it. I'd have to keep the game running for a fair bit before I'd be able to buy a single unimpactful upgrade.

I'll just open with the conclusion: game's fun to play with friends every now and again, it also helps that the game is cheap. But updates from the devs, be it actual game updates or just communicating status updates, are not nearly as common as they should be.

I've only played the game with friends, not with random people online, and in this situation the game is fun.

There's some issues in regards to randomness here and there, where sometimes you have 6 games in a row where your first shot immediately gets you. Or in the Liar's Deck 2 game mode where you end up with 4 rounds in a row where it asks for the same type of card, so someone can potentially be called out constantly (till they run out of cards or die).
To me these things are issues anyway, both of which could be alleviated by adding a bit of weights to the randomness so these annoying things happen less often.

While I do like the game, I have to add that the developers are, how to put this politely... a bit lacking in regards to keeping people informed.
They posted a roadmap last December which indicated new game modes in February and full game release in March. While A new game mode WAS added in March (along with a new bar to play in and 2 new characters, one of which has a voice so bad I turn off the game's sound when somebody picks them) there has been absolutely 0 public communication about delays and how this roadmap has been changed. The roadmap also only went up to March.

There's of course also some bugs, and I personally feel like the performance of the game is a little lacking given that it doesn't seem graphically impressive. (Why isn't this game just capped at 60FPS by default? Or even 30 for that matter. There is absolutely no situation in which I need my computer to be strangling itself to death by running this game at uncapped FPS, and the setting seems to reset itself every now and again.)

Do I like Darktide's gameplay? Yeah, sure, ton of fun to play with some friends.
Then why don't I upvote it? Nearly everything besides the gameplay. It's honestly quite impressive.
That's the tldr anyway.

The amount of RNG in this game is excruciating and I'm sure plenty of other reviews have gone into more detail about that than I possibly could. I'll still point at the mission selection in spite of that. I would gladly either pay IN-GAME CURRENCY for a preferred mission or take a hit to the rewards if it means I can play what I want to.

A friend of mine used to be able to load the game just fine but after an update last year it would take him excessively long to be able to load into the morningstar, would even abort sometimes. The forced hub which adds a TINY bit to the immersion but could also just be replaced by a basic menu instead. That essentially useless morningstar.
This issue is almost definitely on his end but it could also just NOT be an issue if you could bypass the morningstar, he loads into missions just fine after all. But then he needs to load into the morningstar again afterwards and it's hell.

A personal complaint I have is related to the weapons. Let's say you've maxed out your first character and switch to a new one, great! Now you get to start over with absolute trash. Generic weapons aren't shared and the quality of weapons largely depends on the character's level, there's no compensation for having another character besides resources being shared. And that just allows you to upgrade the rarity, not turn trash into treasure.

And finally a matter of preference.
Personally I feel like there's too many semi-automatic weapons. If a single shot feels impactful I don't mind using one too much, but a lot of them don't feel that way to me. Hopefully they'll add more automatic or impactful weapons.

Note: my experience is from a while ago, I don't know if there's been an update which negates my complaints.
The game isn't BAD but I wouldn't say it's GOOD either. My main complaints come from the way progress is gated with various things (you need a fair chunk of Faith but can only get it one day a week) and the tutorial for Alchemy either pops up WAY after you can start on it or it's missing entirely? I haven't encountered one.
Oh, and the alchemy itself is a bit of a pain.

In its current state this is going to be a big fat no from me.
It just feels clunky when it works which isn't guaranteed.
Default control scheme goes against what I consider a basic rule (A for jumping, right? Why the heck is it Y?) and I can't succesfully change it for my controller (ignores button input when attempting to do so)
And of course the crashes. But at least here I'll admit "It's early access, this is what I expect"

Haven't played too much yet, but anyway.

It's amusing so far.
Fairly difficult if you're trying to beat a level quickly, but if you take your time it's not too hard (but who the hell does that?).

One thing that DID irritate me, though, was the developer's cruel sense of humor. They added a "controls" section to the "options" menu, yet you're unable to change the controls there.

... Seriously, Speedrunners? SERIOUSLY?!
You work about half decent, at best .
If you're playing with friends on the same network you STILL need to have an online connection, so it's not an option if your internet's out for whatever reason.
And then there's the random times when somebody's "out" according to a different person's computer and thus can't win that round.
And yet, despite these shortcomings, you find time to make a "famous youtuber" DLC pack?
Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with me?

I'll admit the game's pretty fun, if it's not bugging out. But due to the terrible priorities they seem to have, I'm not recommending it.

I love it when a game which your computer is overqualified for runs crappily... wonder what the hell causes it...
Anyhow, the game itself's just fine, just feels like it runs a bit slower than it's supposed to.

Perfect World Entertainment.
In a perfect world, their games wouldn't suck so bad.
