But to all the people having issues with Uplay and not being able to even launch the game, this is what I did. Manually downloaded the Uplay client outside of Steam. Run it in windows 7 compatibility mode, and as administrator. Install and then log into your Uplay account. Go to Steam, right click the game, view CD key and click copy to clipboard. Go back to the Uplay client and click the key icon on the top right side. CTRL+V to paste your key and click activate. Once it's activated to your account, close out of Uplay and launch the game through Steam. I can't guarantee this will work for everyone, but this is what I did to get it to work.
