I've been thinking about giving this game a review on the sole merit of the great experiences it offers. But at the current technical state with frequent crashes, I cannot recommend this game at this time.

All in all, a great game.

Pros:

• Story is pretty awesome
• Gunplay is fun (aside from weapon sway, that is terrible)
• Visuals are out of this world gorgeous
• Has mod support and whatever this game may lack, modders will fix at some point (probably)

Cons:

• I think I was kind of spoiled by having played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly before.
• Lacks proper A-Life (world feels more empty and uneventful outside of the main story)
• Mutants and Humans are waaaay too tanky
• Player is a bullet sponge as well (in Anomaly you are as vulnerable as the hostiles)
• Repair costs are immense with no option to repair it yourself
• I don't know if my game was bugged, but basically didn't need to sleep at all
• Currently it's not as buggy as on launch, but there are still bugs here and there
• Most monster's spawn areas are bound to locations instead of being able to spawn in the wilds (looking at you, Chimera)

All in all a great game by its own merit, but as a S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-Fan I am mildly disappointed.

As a german it's really refreshing to be able to relax from my job at the callcenter with this.

I personally like this game a lot. The unique combat system has completely destroyed other melee pvp slashers for me (looking at you For Honor). Took me a long while to get good at it and it's really satisfying being able to smack all the people that used to be able to smack me easily before.

Pros:

• Complex but satisfying unique Melee Combat System
• lots of stupid fun shenanigans
• Medieval Times
• Customizing your Knight to your heart's content
• Play (almost) any song you want via Lutemod + Lutebot ingame

Cons:

• High Skill ceiling
• Takes a long time to master
• Level 200s will smack you until you somewhat master it

Early Access Review
I like it so far. Frustrating at times due to it being in the early stages, but it's only going to get better from what I can see.

• AI needs a rework which has been announced (this is placeholder AI)
• Gunplay feels excellent
• Gun-Enthusiasts' wet dream regarding customization
• Nice community
• The AI mocks you relentlessly, which I kinda like ("You think I can't find you in my own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ COUNTRY?!")

All in all, a good game with a LOT of potential.

I honestly really like this game. But as it stands, it is UNPLAYABLE.

I've waited multiple hours now just to LOG IN and as soon as I am near the Briefing table, the game crashes and then I have to wait to log in AGAIN.

Can't recommend it in this state.

*EDIT: Now that the Login procedure has been fixed, I absolutely recommend this game. It feels like it is a blast from the past for some reason and insanely fun.

Great Armored Core game.

If you're a fan of the series, this is a must buy. It takes what made AC great and builds on it with the experience gained on FromSoft's recent titles (which isn't a bad thing in my opinion).
Especially how the camera works. For as much as I loved AC4 and 4A, the restrictive Camera and difficult controls that you couldn't really customize, made the game harder than it had to be and unapproachable for newcomers.

The Story takes a while to really kick off, but the characters are really compelling and grow on you throughout the story. In the end you'll wish you'd had more time to spend with them.

The Bosses are difficult, but manageable in the end. You'll still be ripping your hair out on some of them ( I'm looking at you CEL-240 T_T ).

NG+ and NG++ are really enjoyable and the new available missions are really interesting.

I still wish FromSoft would make a follow-up on Chromehounds (different game that came out for Xbox 360 that was AMAZING), now that they've seen that Mech-Games are still relevant. I really miss that game.

10/10

Hi all.
Ignore my Steam playtime. I got over 700h playtime on Simulator Battles alone with 6k+ Kills in Sim Air Battles.

I have played this game for a long time with some pauses due to Real life or frustration with this game.

There used to be a time when playing was fun and you didn't have to worry too much about the ingame economy, because as long as you played relatively well, you usually ended up with a profit. You could play stealthily and try to survive at all costs, but that is not much fun. At least for me. I liked to get into the furballs and fight the enemy, because killing player-vehicles meant that I would profit.

Those times have long passed.

When you play War Thunder now, how you play is dictated by how much ingame-currency (Silver Lions/SL) you have, how much your vehicle costs (because in Simulator Battles you pay for each SPAWN) and how skilled the other team is.

You are no longer compensated with ingame currency based on your performance. There is a maximum you can gain per 15min IF you survive those 15min. Let's say you kill someone right at the start of the match, then you need to stay alive for 15min or you will not get the reward for shooting that plane down. That also means that any plane you destroy after reaching the threshhold is in vain because you won't get paid for it.

That has lead to very boring gameplay if you want to have a profit at the end of the match. No more jumping into the fight if you're at a disadvantage. Most people just try to get away instead of fighting. And all of this stems from economy changes introduced back in 2021.

It has also lead to a lot of people just quitting after having been killed once, since they're already at a loss and would have to lose more SL to spawn back in. In Simulator Battles this usually means that if all players from 1 team leave, the game ends and if you have not had the chance to make up for the spawn cost in that time, that investment is lost.

If you play aggresively, you will more than likely end at a loss. In High Tier this can mean to easily lose more than 200k SL due to respawns.

BUT!!! If you have a Premium account, you get more SL for actions (which doesn't help much to be honest), but more importantly, Premium Planes (Planes you can buy with real money, usually 70$ on the site) cost less to spawn and get better currency/research-multipliers!

That means: You are actively and HIGHLY incentivized to spend money to progress faster.

The community has tried time and again to get the developer to listen, but they either ignore it or find lame excuses. And of course they are always right...

As the game is right now, I cannot recommend it in good conscience.

TL;DR: The developer has f'd the game, doesn't listen to the community and chooses greedy monetization schemes over having a fun game. Pay to win in the most stupid way. Do not recommend.
