This game is great for a group of friends who love playing games together.

The Yawhg is not your average multiplayer game, however. It is sort of a multiplayer choose-your-own-adventure game. Each person chooses a character and then chooses where they want to spend one of their 6 weeks before the Yawhg arrives. The beuty lies in the amount of variation you can get therein. Will you stay at the bar and get drunk all week? Will you go to the palace and dance the nights away? Will you don a mask and fight crime in the back alleys for the slums? All these options are available to you.

After choosing what you will be doing that week, a small story is told to you for that week, maybe while fighting crime you meet someone who turns you into a vampire! Maybe during your work at the hospital hundreds of leeches break free! While they are limited, the story elements of each location are different from each other and highly entertaining. During the story part, your stats will change (Physique, Mind, Magic, Finesse, etc). These will be important after the Yawhg arrives.

The most interesting thing about the story elements is that they have a chance of crossing over to other areas. If the aformentioned leeches break free from the hospital, they may spill over into the slums! Or maybe even the lake! The dryad you met in the woods may show up in the arena! The combinations are truely interesting and make the game even more fun to explore.

After the Yawhg arrives, you are tasked to rebuild by taking on one of many important (or not so important) roles around the town. Will you band the remaning townsfolk together and lead? Will you try to use your might to build? Will you use your magical aptitued to brew potions? Beware, though, because if you do not have the proper stats (gained from the story parts of the game) you will fail in your attempt to help, and you will hinder the rebuilding.

After everyone has chosen a role they are given their last story segment and you are told if the town will press on after the Yawhg or if it will ultimately fall to ruin.

I would like to see more stories added or mod support so that the community could add their own stories.

The game is overall fun for a group of friends, and trying to get the best ending can be challanging and a true team effort. I would highly reccomend this game with 2 or 3 friends that are will to experiment in gameplay and work together.

This game is simply amazing.

When I first saw this game, I was worried that it would be more slow paced than I would like. Then I got 3 friends over and boy was I wrong!

The pace can be frantic and down right insane at times. Trying to take out one opponent when another is hot on your tail can make for some intense matches. Nothing can beat the yelling that goes on when one person misses with an arrow only to be taken out by the person they were attacking. Or watching a one-on-one match from the sidelines and shouting for who you want to win.

The variety in this game is truely astounding, and frankly, something I wasn't expecting. The variants you can add to the match (such as laser arrows that never go away until they hit a person or another arrow, or corpses that can explode on command) really add a layer of depth that a game like this benefits from. The fact that you can save up to three pre-set variation packs makes these options work extremely well. So you don't have to go into the variants menu every time and select each modifier one-by-one, you can just save your favorite to a pre-set and reload it whenever you want to use it. The group I play with use this every time we play and it is wonderful.

The single player (Quest Mode) starts off more slow-paced than its multiplayer conuterpart, but does not stay there for long. The boss fights (yes, there are boss fights) take on a whole new level of gameplay and test your skills learned thusfar. The ability to play the "Quest Mode" with a second player really helps on the more difficult matches, and I was only able to defeat the last level with a friend helping me. It really is a value add for something that could have been a multiplayer only experience.

The trials were something I never really got into. I'm sure they are fine, but I'm not a big fan of trying to speedrun stuff like that so I can't speak much on it.

Lastly, the hidden unlockable characters add a nice incentive to try the other game modes. There are four characters and I believe the same number of levels that can be unlocked in various ways. Each character has their own unique look. I would highly suggest getting all of these, as they are not too difficult to find and unlock.

All in all, this game is insanely good. Fast paced, frantic, screamingly good fun for a group of friends. Highly reccomended!

If you're into bullet-hell shooters, this is the game for you!

The gameplay is tight and well made, with four different ships to choose from (three that have to be unlocked through playing the game) with very different play styles. The visual aesthetic is unique and works well for the game. The story itself is pretty out there, but for a bullet-hell game, the story isn't really why we're here, now is it?

All in all, the game is worth the price, especially if you can get some friends together.
