Blender is a very useful piece of software, although I sometimes run into crashes or freezes, but that's fine if you save often. I think learning Blender does take some time and effort but in the end, it's worth it. The fact that it's free and available on steam is very nice, because we can have automatic updates. Addons sometimes also cause crashes, especially the older ones, but that's not a very big issue as many extensions are being updated. Just save often. Just be warned rendering might be slow if you render on a CPU. AMD users will have to suffer through the pain of AMD prorender or CPU rendering. Official AMD card support would be useful someday.
