Early Access Review
Buggy AF but still fun. Online only is kinda obnoxious but when the whole server rolls up and starts skating the same location it's kinda good

I'm so glad I gave this one a go, it's super well made and the polish is really noticeable. Definitely worth it if you're up for a relaxing and enjoyable game where you can really take your time.

I love love love this game, the atmosphere is so eeire and the platforming is solid (not too challenging and simultaneously rewarding). I only have two requests: 1. Please allow me to set my own checkpoints (at least 2) and 2. If you fall can you please let the character fall all the way to the bottom? Even if its just a repeating screen it would be better than a cut to black.

Anyway while this is on sale its an absolute buy, but even at full price I would still buy this game.

This game is like Factorio meets Countdown and I love it.

Instead of having set recipes you have to follow, you need to formulate the recipe every time. There is a decent amount of creativity in the way you construct your solution, e.g. you could make 65 536 from adding 60 000 + 5 000 + 500 + 30 + 6 or you could recognise that 65 536 = 2^16 and save yourself a lot of time.

Whereas Factorio challenges you in logistics management and base defence etc. this game is much more simple and just challenges you to find an elegant way to construct each number in as few arithmetic operations as possible.

If you like Factorio and enjoy maths at a high-school level then this is a great game for you.

This game is so relaxing, aesthetically pleasing, and at times challenging. The design of this game is beautiful; after every game it feels like you've inadvertently designed a real subway map. The design and music create such a calming atmosphere that even when my train network is failing and there are four stations that are overcrowded, I can just sit back and enjoy the tranquillity. The music is really what keeps me coming back to this game. Every single element in the game contributes to the music, if a train starts moving then an instrument will be added to the score. If a passenger departs or boards a train, a note will be played. It's such a novel way of making a soundtrack for a game and it guarantees that you won't get tired of hearing the same old songs each time.

I highly recommend you get this game, even if it isn't on sale. It has a similar calming atmosphere to Minecraft but you require less input and perhaps a little more planning.

The initial reactions to this game are justified, the balance is just awful. The XP system is broken and pay to win and some towers are blatantly unusable (most notably the farm). The eco reward from sending bloons is way too high, it didn't take long before I had such high eco that I couldn't spend all the money I was generating. As soon as DDTs are available to send, DDT rushes ensue and there is nothing that a free to play player like myself can do to defend it with the towers available to me.

All of that being said, I find it difficult to give this game a positive review. The only reason this game is getting a positive review from me is that thankfully, Ninja Kiwi are already fixing many of the problems I and many other reviewers have listed. The XP system has already been updated to be *closer* to what it should be. In time, I expect this game to be improved and be more like the game everyone expected it to be. While it is disappointing that the game released in this state, I thank the NK for the quick response to player feedback and I hope that BTDB2 pans out to be as good as or exceed BTDB.
