If "Maybe the real treasure was the friends we made along the way" were an actual, unironic game. And it's incredible.

"Unreal Engine sucks! It's horribly unoptimized and all the games on it look like crap!"

A handful of Japanese dudes who haven't made a game in 18 years:

This might actually be the best game ever written. I'm dead serious, if you like games that intellectually challenge your beliefs, you're doing yourself a massive disservice by not playing this one.

If I had to point to one single game deserving of the title of "Best JRPG Ever", it'd be this one right here. Twenty years later, Nocturne still stands as a damn near flawless example of great game design; intriguing writing, complex antagonists, and a brutal yet fulfilling skill curve — thanks to the ingenious Press Turn System that originated in Nocturne and has been a franchise staple ever since — that rewards you when you're taking things seriously and mercilessly punishes you when you're not. If you're anything like me, and enjoy a good challenge, Nocturne will have you hooked not long after you start, and keeps you coming back for more all the way up until the end in a way that very few games have ever done for me. If you're already a SMT/Persona fan, then this game will largely be a no-brainer purchase for you. But even if you're never experienced anything related to MegaTen, if you've got plenty of time on your hands and are looking for something thought provoking that will stay with you long after you finish it, I encourage you to take the plunge and give Nocturne a shot.

Oh, and it's got Dante from DMC. But you already knew that.

Nothing has ever boosted my morale more than hearing Free Bird blaring in the background as a friendly medic rushes over to revive me.

Are you a fan of Japanese arcade rhythm games such as WACCA, Arcaea, MÚSECA, or Chunithm, but you don't live in Japan? If so, then Muse Dash is the next best thing. Though it is a PC port of a mobile game, Muse Dash serves as a fantastic stepping stone for people who want to get into foreign rhythm games without the ball busting difficulty curve. It uses a simple two button control scheme which is expanded greatly upon at the game's higher difficulty levels; it's more or less Geometry Dash but with Japanese EDM. With the current Lunar New Year sale, it's only $1, and even if you don't feel like purchasing the DLC, the premium songs rotate on a weekly basis, so you can try them out without having to fork over the money.

You can get the super shotgun from DOOM and it plays a guitar riff every time you fire it. Also it's probably the strongest weapon in the entire game. I killed the final boss in like 30 seconds. 11/10

(I already beat the original PSVita version)

One of the best JRPGs of all time finally makes its long-awaited debut on a platform that us Westerners actually own. P4G continues the trend set by Persona 3 with dungeon crawling, anime girl dating, and end of the world stopping. There's roughly 65-80 hours worth of content for one playthrough, depending on how much you struggle with each dungeon, and plenty of sidequests to boot. I hope that this sells well enough on PC to convince Atlus to port the other Persona games.
