One of the best story driven games in recent memory, hopeful for a season 2 and whatever else the team behind this game does going forward. This is easily worth the price tag for the experience alone.

If you are a fan of Marvel comics and strategy/puzzle games where you need to somewhat think about what move to make next, I highly recommend this game. This game while not perfect is a blast for anyone who loves comics or you have a favorite character out of the roster and want to hang with them and learn more about them on a deeper level then I am hero and I kill bad guy like how the characterization is for most superhero games. The game is fun and the card system is unique and not annoying and its not hard to build a decent deck for characters given you have a limited amount of cards. The graphics for the game range from great to acceptable and the game runs fine given it is unreal engine and DX12. The only real cons is that this game needs the DLC so buying it without is leaving a lot of content out of the game while you are progressing the story and want a break. As well as you miss out on fun character interactions that really do add a lot to this game. Secondly is that you can really tell this game was going to have micro-transactions and such by how grindy some of the stuff is in the game with daily waits but I am guessing after seeing the avengers game bomb the course was changed sometime right before late game development so it is less annoying then it could have been. Thirdly is subjective, if you do not like a lot of dialogue you might want to reconsider getting this as this game is heavy on it. There usually is not a moment of respite from some sort of chatter and some conversations get wordy but it does make sense for what they were going for which is expanding on characters more then a surface level and they do need all of the words to get there.
This is a good game overall and one that is highly slept on, please give it a chance on sale as I do pray that there will be another game like this for Marvel even though it sadly won't be midnight suns due to the low sales which is disappointing as this game gives its all and did not get anything back in return.

Really hopeful that the optimization and performance issues get fixed, I know this is a great game but I can't even get out of the beginning of the game before it stutters so much that the game crashes.

While I think a lot of the criticism for this game is valid, I think there is a lot of unwarranted criticism as well being thrown at this product. I will not call this a game as It does not feel like one and feels a lot like a tool for learning guitar vs being like rocksmith 2014 which had mini games and a bunch more modes and features which felt like a more complete package. This is not a perfect product and that is overly glaring by it's obtuse menu and ui that make everything feel clunky and disorganized by songs not being correctly labeled genre wise when looking for specific genres in the menu. I have had a lot of issues as well with buzzing being picked up even when fiddling with the in game noise suppression among other small issues and bugs which the most annoying is trying to exit or restart a song but if you are ever so slightly off on clicking it just continues the song which is infuriating to say the least. But if I have so many issues with this game why am I rating it positively? Well that comes down to me taking the time to realize that this is not a replacement for Rocksmith 2014 and what I am realizing is a lot of people do not understand licensing agreements for music and how horrid they are. A lot of people are treating this like Ubisoft killed the previous rocksmith to be greedy and make a killing offering it as a subscription service. While yes money was most likely a reasoning as to why they moved to a sub based service you also have to realize that these songs and getting them cost money, a LOT of money in certain songs cases and they almost always have a time limit on keeping those songs available before either being told to piss off or renew the license which is always more then what the original one was. Rocksmith 2014 was coming up to being a decade old and a lot of licenses are removed or taken away at that point by labels and it is extremely expensive to get those back. It was probably cheaper in the long run to remove the game from being bought vs having to gut the game and remove songs that you enjoy from the product. You only still have the songs you do in Rocksmith 2014 because ubisoft delisted it and removed it from purchase, if they had kept the game going over time more songs would have been removed. With having a sub based platform this lets songs come and go easier without gutting the whole experience and brings in constant revenue for both ubisoft and who holds the music license so it can stay around longer and more songs can be acquired in the long run. Rocksmith+ does what it is intended to do which helps you get started on learning guitar and understanding it along with letting you learn songs and how to play them. This is a cheaper alternative then to going to music classes which can cost just as much as a monthly sub for just one class or even more then the yearly subscription price and for what it is, I think it is worth it for $20 a month. It is not a perfect product but it is serviceable with a lot of gripes with the menu and ui that need polishing and maybe more features like mini games.

An hour in to this game and it is a ton of fun and is worth the price specially with the current sale of $11.69. If this were to get some more updates to the hit timing with the outside drum hits (blue notes) and hopefully soon a community to make custom songs this is something that can and will be worth its price and more. Only two complaints I do have with this game is it does seem to have random slowdowns for me that I do not usually have in VR that does impact the ability to hit notes but it is not a big issue when it is near the intro of the song as you can just restart easily and quickly. I do find the blue notes to be a bit hard to hit sometimes sadly even though I do know I hit it on time or as close as possible but it counts as a complete miss. Some features that would be fun would to be maybe have an option for the drum to have collision with the sticks to maybe make hitting the blue notes feel nicer. As well as I would like to see an option to make the drum hit sounds louder then they are now as for myself personally I am used to like in beat saber where you can make the note slash sounds as loud or louder then the song itself to help with timing and knowing when I do hit the drum. A cool thing for if this game does pop off would be anime or external collabs with japanese songs like how it is in taiko no tatsuji. Thanks for the fun game!

This review is going to be a long one but not for the game itself, I am going to review both the game and then the discourse I have been seeing online for this game.

Let's start with the game and what I like about it after playing it on ps5 and now pc. The games art direction and graphics are amazing, the gameplay is fun and intuitive especially once you play at higher difficulties, game is *mostly* stable with only one crash so far on pc and honestly was probably my fault with overclocking, and the sound design (music, voices, ect.) are wonderfully done.

Now let's get to the PC gamer master race genre, I'll start off by saying I used to be a console gamer who drifted between platforms and holds no real loyalty to any of them and now have been gaming on pc for almost a decade at this point. I do not think you should have to link your psn account to steam to play the multiplayer. I said the epic gamer updoot thing that is so hecking cool right? Well I also don't believe it is the greatest sin to mankind for having to log into my sony account either. I think the drama is being way overblown by people who spend a little too much time suckling off the tit of social media who have no idea how anything truly works and sees that a large amount of countries can't play and now want to be white knights to defend these people. The unfortunate reality is that the outcry from this will literally change nothing, even without PSN this game would have still been blocked from sale in countries due to themes, ratings, violence, ect. and nothing would have changed that. With helldivers I think it was a genuine problem that sony sold the game in countries where they later blocked off from purchase, that was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to do and should not have happened. However on the point of PSN accounts do people really think sony could just let anyone in the world sign up for one like how it would be in a perfect world? What people don't understand is that to even get a service like PSN into a new country is a huge thing to do and isn't something done in an afternoon. There's laws, money, and countless other things that would go into it even if to say that the government of said country would allow sony to offer their service to their people. If you truly want to make a stink to sony please tell them respectfully without hate or death threats your opinion in more official channels like twitter, email, phone, ect. and let them know how badly you want these things in your country or support others in said countries. Don't waste your money buying this game and then leave a negative review because you solve nothing by giving them your money. If you seriously have a problem logging into PSN, I would like to know what other services you also have to log in for like GTA 5, LOL, Rainbow six, and more that you never complain about but now that it's sony its such a problem. What about having to log into xbox to play microsoft multiplayer games? If it is a safety concern I want you to look into other companies you have given your info to that have also had hacking issues like even valve itself. Please protest right rather then harming people like the original devs of this game and the devs who ported it, they almost certainly have nothing to do with sony's choices.

Before the recent fiasco I was willing to change my review to a positive one given how the game has gotten more stable then when I first played it and was ultimately playable with little issues. I am not one who really cares about linking my stuff to my psn as I already have one and have had one for years. But this should have been heavily stated during the beginning and should have been handled differently. There should not be a requirement for psn unless you play crossplay which is the only way it makes sense to have since you are interacting with playstation players. Quickly changing policies on the website and requiring psn linking out of the blue instead of giving a longer heads up is wrong, much less to the people who can't make psn accounts outside of supported countries. Thousands are going to lose access in a move purely driven by greed to collect player data which most likely will not be used for good and will most likely get stolen or sold to the wrong people at some point. Sadly even if sony went back on this I don't think it would change much as now all trust has been squashed by such a bold and quick move that only was done for money without much care for the people they are profiting from because they got their bag when said people bought the game months ago.
