Friend Bought it me as a joke because he knows I like Hades...

Was it funny laughing at the insanely over the top characters sure, is it just a bad hades clone with oversexualized characters... yes ahah I mean there is hints of potentially interesting mechanics but they all don't matter in the end

It's just Hades for gooners and I mean it clearly works for sales so well played dev?

Genuinely such a fun little game, that last level had me sweating!

If you need me I'll be crying trying to do hardmode to get that recipe

I'm very torn with this game, the first 3 chapters are incredibly good, the art, music and writing is amazing. Max's character for the most part is really well written feeling like herself but matured and a lot of the characters are well written and acted and interesting to learn more about.

It is however an incredibly flawed game, I for one don't have a problem with how they handle the Chloe business to begin with (them being broken up actually makes alot of sense especially with some of the hints they have about why) but they never really elaborate as to the actual reasoning and it almost feels pointless bringing her up at all at that point, it seems like they wanted Max's character to be tormented by the decision but never committed to doing so.

Aside from that the story falls short incredibly with the last 2 chapters, the writing feels poorly done and at times is just very confusing and although I enjoyed the game it did feel not great after getting to the end and tbh the way the game is setup you don't really get emotionally attached to Safi so the ending just feels kinda neutral at best and unfortunately kinda leaves you thinking "what was the point?"

It's really hard for me to rate this I think if you get it on sale and enjoy life is strange it's worth a playthrough but other than that I'm not sure I could.

Conclusion: Max as a character feels refreshingly developed and if you want more of Max you will have a great time & the parts that are great really stand out unfortunately the latter parts that are poorly written make it hard to remember the good and just leaves you feeling sad for what could have been

If you liked the first one you'll love this one!

Gameplay feels really great with the introduction of new mechanics, skills and stances meaning there's a play style for everyone. The story was excellent, lots of unexpected twists and turns with meaningful moments and characters with depth

Everything about this game just feels like an overall upgrade from the first and the game is pretty massive

Onto the controversial topic PERFORMANCE, My game ran relatively fine I never had a crash and for the most part it was stable, If lower frame rates every so often bug you I would make sure you have good hardware and expect to probably not run on max settings (I was running at max settings with RTX off on a 3070 and Ryzen 7 5800X) I do think a lot of people playing this game are maybe trying to run too high settings for their systems when they know the game isn't amazingly optimised so keep that in mind going into the game. Plus game is amazing don't worry about trying to get the max graphics possible, just play the damn game

The only real problems I noticed was lower frames in large open areas and the holomap on the mantis running at around 20fps but it didn't effect gameplay and honestly was just kinda funny and the former I probably coulda fixed with lowering my settings but I just never bothered to

Overall I highly recommend (I bought the game for £29.99 immediately after playing the first one)

A beautiful parkour that sets up to be more than that but ultimately falls flat on everything outside aesthetic and free running gameplay
(Bought game for £3.59)

This game is a hard one for me as a huge fan of Mirror's Edge, I finally got around to playing this one and I have mixed feelings about it I think overall I would recommend but only for a discounted price.

THE PROS:
So as per usual just like the first game the gameplay is super smooth parkour feels amazing with 90% of the area you parkour in having great flow and aesthetically the game still looks amazing with a really unique colour palette, if you liked the first one chances are you will genuinely enjoy the gameplay of this one

The overall feel of the game is nice with the sound, UI and cutscenes all feeling pretty nice

THE CONS:
The 'Open' World. It seems like it would be an amazing idea open world + parkour should = a great game but it falls super flat here you start to realise a lot of the missions are built around similar paths (I had a friend watching me play every now and then and he didn't even realise it was open world because of this) an example of the failings of the open world is the collectables that are just thrown in wherever seemingly obvious and almost placed as if they are meant to be collected without thought while doing missions.

The Story. Oh... my god... the story is AWFUL, obviously you don't really expect much from the story of Mirror's Edge as even the first games story was predictable but this one was truly something, If it wasn't completely forgettable or just a hindrance in the way of you running about it was eye rolling bad with some laughably obvious plot-twists and events that don't ever seem to lead anywhere other than trying to make you feel something (which it never really manages to do) Also don't expect any questions you have answered.

LUKE WARM TAKES:
The combat although with more options to fight now it ends up being incredibly repetitive it feels like they were trying to go with a combat system that had push and pull (similar to how you play a fighting game) but didn't really want to commit to it as it would feel out of place so you are left with this combat system that is incredibly 'spammy' but still has it's moments (side kicking an enemy over railing will never not be funny). The combat feels at it's best when making use of it during free running kicking an enemy as you are running past while keeping pace still the problem is especially with the main story it doesn't really give you a lot of chances to really do that and in the end feels out of place in the game.

The new gadgets. These could have been a nice mix up to the parkour but end up just sort of being flashy cinematic moments in a free run

OVERALL RATING 6.5/10
I recommend it if you are wanting something in the vain of Mirror's Edge and wanting to just chill and run about, But don't expect an interesting story or memorable characters. Will I come back to play some more now I have finished the story to 100% the game, most probably so that's a testament to how the gameplay still feels great even with all of it's shortcomings. I only recommend buying it at a discounted price if I paid full price I'd probably be pretty annoyed.

*Chef's Kiss* Man I am incredibly mad I picked this game up so late but boy am I glad I picked it up before Hades 2 comes out. This game is by far the best rogue-like I've ever played

Sound track - 10/10
Characters and Voicing - 10/10
Art Style - IMPECCABLE

Really good game!

Game feels a lot more relaxed and chill compared to the other games (feels more grounded I guess?) and I really enjoyed the animation and lighting in the game almost every scene was beautiful

I'd give it a solid 8/10 Great story, Emotions feel grounded and conversations feel fluid, Beautiful Soundtrack (as per usual) and great visuals, The only gripe I have with the visuals is some of the outside scenery felt very "Disney" if that makes sense, Felt very fake when compared to the Indoor scenes sometimes!

Comparing it to the other life is strange games it's a different experience so hard to compare but I still think LiS2 is my fav

Just 0 content that isn't repetitive

They made it so you had to grind mats to be able to grind mats.

Game was designed so there was lots of pointless padding so you didn't get to end game quick and realise there was no content (only reason I stopped playing is because many of my friends reach cap and realised it was just more of the same grind but for single points of gear score rather than level no new interesting end game content that you would expect from an MMO)
