Cool game, kinda outdated. Don't expect a cakewalk, Witchers ain't immortal. The beginning will be relentless until you get real comfortable with the combat.

After about 80 hours, I have to say the game was actually really fun throughout for anyone who enjoys a good collectathon and cinematic experience.

The combat isn't challenging for the most part, though I ate a boatload of Full-Course Meals, so my stats were pretty wild. That being said, the ease of fighting just thematically fits Dragon Ball. Fodder soldiers aren't supposed to be a challenge to the Z-Fighters, and certain bosses will give you a hard time because that's how it was for the characters at the time. It makes sense, some gamers just prefer a more challenging experience. I can respect that.

As for the cinematic aspect, it's pretty dang great. Aside from the well-made cutscenes, even active combat has its own flair. The further you get, the bigger and flashier the moves get. Super Finishes, Surge Combos, Party Assists, I was entertained just watching my Spirit Bombs get bigger and bigger over time. It all feels so correct, and this is truly the greatest video game retelling of DBZ out there. For old DBZ fans, it's a clear love letter. For people that have never seen or read any of the Dragon Ball franchise, it's a perfect introduction that even includes background info from the first Dragon Ball series (when Goku is a child).

Even the side objectives like driving have their meme value. By the time you'll want to drive around, you'll probably have so many materials that you can make some good Chips and upgrade the car quite a bit. Souping up the Hovercar to max level with 3 Speed Chips and dominating the races was genuinely fun for me. Lemme tell ya, offroading in a hovering vehicle going over 200mph is actually really fun. That thing can go places you would never expect. After playing for so long, it was a surprisingly welcome change of pace from flying at breakneck speed and Ultimate Spirit Bombing all comers.

All in all, I highly recommend Kakarot for anyone who thinks it looks cool from the trailer. Straight up. Don't expect a hardcore RPG, nor combat difficulty akin to Dark Souls. You are playing as gods amongst men, so just enjoy the ride.

Amazing spiritual successor to the Jet set games of old. Gives me a real nice feeling to see a building and just be able to say "Yeah, I could pull that off."

If mobility is a major selling point for you, this is the perfect game for you.
