Quite fun and lengthy for a demo!

Feels very much like XCOM: Chimera Squad, with anthropomorphic animals.
Really good 2D art style, I wish I could say the same for the 3D character models though... Would go a long way if they could make those match the 2D artwork a bit more.

I'm sure it being an early demo means that it's still a heavy work-in-progress. So it might be a bit too GPU intensive, despite the rather outdated visuals. I still manage 120+ FPS despite my modest card (RX 7600), but boy it makes it work hard for them!

That being said, it's pretty decent so far. I hope most of those issues get addressed for the final release!
Give it a shot. (it's free)

This game is amazeballs.

Colorful, full of action with somewhat juvenile humor, but a very solid hack and slash.

My only gripe is that I wish it would've been a bit longer.

I hope they make a sequel sometime!

Oh boy. Where do I begin with this game?

What started as a somewhat simple spooky thing to play while I chatted with friends on Discord during October, ended up becoming an incredibly enjoyable ride all the way through the end, and then some!

Coming from someone that is not very involved with the indie horror scene, or horror games in general, the Catto Boi series as a whole has been the most unexpected thing for me to play this year.

So what there is to say about this spooky cat game?

Admittedly, it's not the best thing ever made. In fact, it can be quite rough at some points, mostly some bugs here and there.

At no point these issues will be detrimental to the experience though. The game runs fine, controls are very nice and fluid (specially on later games in the series). Some sections can be slightly challenging. But if you're not new to the genre, it'll be a breeze. It's a simple, yet fun platformer overall.

As for the horror aspect... There are scarier things out there. But horror, just like humor, can be very subjective/personal. So YMMV here. It has it's moments, some of the scares are really goofy, but well-timed.
It will manage to catch you off-guard sometimes.
Your first play-through will be your most impactful in my opinion. I recommend to come in blind on this one!

Also since this is a meta horror/4th wall break game, it will require you to know how to navigate your system's directories and how to deal with files and folders in order to progress. Nothing crazy advanced though, If you've played this kind of games before you probably know this anyway.

To add to this: There's also a fair share of tiny details and easter eggs scattered about both in and out of each game. So if you're particularly curious, it will reward and amuse/horrify you in unexpected ways.

The story is at a minimum, interesting. It's not peak writing but it's interesting enough to keep you wanting to know what's going to happen next. It's a matter of taste, I suppose.
But to me it was pretty decent. It kept me engaged without overstaying it's welcome.

I know for sure the characters, story, music (SPECIALLY the music, the OST is one of the highest highlights of this game!) and overall theme of the games did earn a Big Boi-sized place in my heart.

Not many games leave me with such a long lasting impression in me. But this one managed, oh boy it managed.

The whole thing is a huge passion project, and at some points, even a love letter to simpler times for some of us. Made with Love./..../ indeed...

Certainly recommended!*

*If you think the Collection price on Steam might be a bit too much, the games are also available separately in other storefronts. But by all means do yourself a favor and give this game series a shot. The developer most definitely deserves the support!

Fantastic game. Lots of personality, and has aged fairly well!
The PC port is a bit meh though. Still very functional and stable.

Give it a shot!

Early Access Review
To be honest, I don't even care about the short-stack characters that much. Even though they can be pretty cute.
I just find the gameplay riveting.

Looking forward for more content!

Don't be fooled by my play time. I've played this game for a long while now.
Yes, I recommend it. Everyone else has already said how good this game is.

Happy 20th Anniversary, My beloved.

Since there's no way to leave a neutral review, I'll just throw a thumbs down on it, because I personally didn't like it.

It's just like NFS: Heat, which is just like NFS: Payback. Weird physics and all.

Same cars, with a few new ones thrown in, with mostly the same customization options, plus a few new ones.
Also a battle pass system because of course it's a thing.

If you liked those entries in the series, buy it on sale if you must.
If you're looking for something different to the aforementioned games, keep looking.

Criterion, blink twice if you're being held against your will.

Lovely stealth game. Short and easy but it was a real sweet experience!

Cute art style, and very polished gameplay.
Completely free.

The developers definitely had fun working on this project, and it shows in every aspect of the game.
I definitely recommend it if you have a couple of hours to kill.

It's pain, and suffering. Lots of friends to be made if you're persistent enough.
Cute art style tho!
