The game is buggy and in spite of playing for nearly two hours, has very little sense of progression or accomplishment. The controls feel clunky. If I try to pick up a book that was dropped next to a book shelf, it doesn't handle that well and prompts me with a popup that tells me both actions are available but use the same button. It feels tedious instead of either cozy or satisfying.

Does not work on Steam Deck in spite of being marked as verified. The title screen resolution is so warped that you can't even start the game. The game cursor can't select any of the menu options.

I felt this game was mostly managing without a tutorial until I realized that there are dozens and dozens of symbols for "aspects" in the game you're supposed to learn to recognize. When you try to drop a card into a slot that doesn't have the right aspect, it tells you just the names of the aspects, not the symbols. The only way to learn them is to click on a card then mouse over, one by one, the list of aspects to read what they are. It's a pain to connect what the game is asking you for to what you have.

Early Access Review
If you're the type of person who played Minecraft in alpha and still had fun, this game might be for you. It has a strong core that's quite fun, and I can see the potential for the game is quite high. I'm 15+ hours in and I've barely scratched the surface of the tech tree and taming mechanics. The ~$25 price tag seems more than fair.

Right now the #1 thing bringing the game down is lag issues on the official servers. Unofficial servers are the way to go. The lack of tutorialization is tough as well, but the community resources are growing rapidly. The community in general, when not complaining about server lag/capacity, is pretty nice. This may be unique to PVE servers, but still. For the most part everyone I've interacted with has been chill. The devs have been excellent so far about posting updates and staying involved with the community.

I'd give this game a strong recommendation to other dino-lovers. If you don't love dinos, you better love survival mechanics. This is a great game if you're into either category, but otherwise, you'd probably best sit out until closer to the full release.

Amazing co-op game. There is a range of ways you can play, to accomodate everyone from the hardcore FPS type to the complete newbie - without feeling useless in a team. Great level design. There is rarely "one true solution", so it keeps me thinking. The enemies range from cute to cool to just plain annoying - but they all provide challenge. Love the character customization, it gives me a ton of options to experiment with such that the gameplay never gets stale. The story told through comics is a great addition as well, and I can't wait to see how they wrap things up.

Also, major props to the team for providing frequent updates. I was playing when it launched and there were a number of problems, but they were all fixed within a week. They're attentive to the community, and that's awesome. <3

The HD remix has revived my obsession with this game. For those of you who have played before: The tutorial has been greatly improved, both in pacing and in clarity. The UI is much easier to read at a glance, and much more intuitive to boot. I also greatly appreciate some of the features they've added - beacons, terraforming, etc. It's definitely worthwhile to revisit.

If you haven't played before, Eufloria is a unique RTS through and through. It's amazing how this game pairs a relaxing setting with challenging goals. I get so absorbed I often don't realize how much time has passed. There is a time element, but it's not strict. You can pace yourself however you wish. The game increases in difficulty somewhat slowly, but the hardest levels kept me entertained long after I finished story mode. There's a surprising amount of complexity arising from simple mechanics. The fact of the matter is - I played 50+ hours of the original, and here I am years later, and the mechanics are still feel fresh and challenging. That, my friends, is the mark of a good game.

An unexpeccted combination of mechanics brings out a fun and challenging game. It suffers from slight repetition, but the DLC is completely worth it. It's got good multiplayer, too.
