Early Access Review
Are you someone with ADHD who wants to listen to podcasts but you can't because if your hands aren't busy you'll go doom scroll somewhere? A stoner who just needs good vibes and satisfaction to keep you from reaching for that family size bag of peanut M&Ms you told yourself you wouldn't finish in one sitting? Maybe you just love those power wash videos on youtube but you're too poor to get a power washer of you own?

Well, these are all me, and PowerWash Simulator has given me a lot of joy.

I'm working my way through the Magnus Archives by day and protecting my snacks by the light of the zoot.

Sober or Stoned this game is a great way to just vibe. It's earned a permanent place on my hard drive because I just love how satisfying it is.

Edit: An Update did actually come through for this, but I'm still gonna recommend it. I know some harder pressed gamers will disagree with me, but I think taking away all but a single save point at 6am is poor game making. Especially when there isn't a health bar just a, you get caught and it's game over. I played this game for the aesthetic and the story, I'm not trying to be stressed because I gotta do things in one go or lost an hour's worth of exploration in a single area because I was lost.

So...

As much as I would like to recommend this game...I can't.

I picked up this game because the fandom took the characters and ran with them. On top of that I've always been an IRL fan of animatronics, puppetry, and the nostalgia of the 80s/90s. There's a lot I love in this game, but that love can't outweigh the stink.

It's absolutely stunning design and setting wise. The environment is immersive and detailed, the Pizzaplex really feels like an entertainment mecca you can visit. WIt's what the likes of Rock a Fire and Chuck e Cheese could have grown to be! The characters have awesome designs and personalities and their personal merch is everywhere around the building, it's beautiful to see.

The problem is...Underneath all this beauty is a cracked foundation.

The amount of hours I have in this game is mostly from the fact I have to continually restart or run all the way back to places. Why? because I constantly fall through the world. The walls disappear, characters teleport, you go through a door and fall through to a different floor, and I've even been trapped inside the walls! Sometimes you can't even properly hide because it spits you out of your hiding spot before you can even get in it. During one boss battle a character T posed and slow came after me so I was able to easily win without much effort. I don't think games should be hard for the sake of being hard, I'm here for the story and aesthetics, but when your character glitches that bad there is an issue.

Sexy animatronics can only get you so far, and while I do love this game I cannot recommend anyone play it until a major update comes through...which I don't know it'll ever get. I'm not even finished with the game, but I'm having to constantly put it down from the frustration of it being almost unplayable nearing the end. I've had friends who gave up on it and just watched someone else play through.

This game has a lot of potential, and I think it just got pushed out a little too soon.

Rusty Lake Hotel was a game I bought instantly upon only viewing half of the trailer. I knew instantly that it was going to be a game that appeased my curious appetite. Food and Murder, I'm absolutely in! It was a jump into my recently found love of Point&Clicks. Unfortunately, this quick ordering left me a little hungry since it only feels like an appetizer. All the same...It was delicious.

Pros:
- The character designs are what made me buy the game so quickly. They're seemingly basedon Victorian/Edwardian taxidermy and photography. They are delightfully creepy and appealing to the eye. They fit into the atmosphere around them, and for me they help make the game feel like a dark picture book.

-Music wise the Rusty Lake Hotel is haunting. Each room has sounds unique to it, and they do distract from the puzzle solving process. Each piece sets the mood for each room, and it really adds to the game without being annoying.

-The Puzzles for this point and click adventure are interesting and properly themed to each Dinner Guest. Often they are macbre, fun, and not too frustrating. There are exceptions to this, however.

-Each room tells interesting hints about their occupants. They are all unique to their guests personalities/lives outside of The Rusty Lake Hotel.

Cons:
-Honestly, this game is incredibly short. You can work your way through the meal fairly quickly. In my excitement to order I didn't completely read up on the game. For the price, however, I likely should have known. Still...It really left me wanting more despite my enjoyment of the puzzles and death.

-Some of the puzzles for extra ingredients could be incredible frustrating. Often, I was unable to find optional ingredients because I was too soft hearted or it just didn't seem like something one would naturually do.

Overall, I really enjoyed Rusty Lake Hotel! I got more than enough entertainment out of it for what I paid...even if I'm not quite full yet. The good news is the next game Rusty Lake:Roots has been announced! So, it seems that we may be getting a second helping yet. Bon Appetit, my friends.

Around Halloween I am always incredibly nostalgic. Every year I go back and watch the most childish of Halloween programs to relive some of the feelings. Costume Quest brings those emotions up! It's a fun, little game that will instantly take you back to being a kid on Halloween night.

It is a short and childish game; however, I think it's a solid, little adventure RPG. If you like having feelings of nostalgia or you want something to share with young Halloween fans in your home, this game is a treat. (And that's no trick.)

Hatoful Boyfriend is wings down my favorite Otome Game.

It's been said many times, but it is a clear example that you don't need great art to have a wonderful game or visual novel. The writing in this game is what makes it so amazing. You'll laugh, you'll cringe, and sometimes you'll even cry as you play through...and it feels good! I bought this game prepared to only have a chuckle at the cute birbs, but I really ended up being sucked into the story.

Hatoful Boyfriend is more than just falling in love with pigeons. There's more to the romance and more than meets the eye.

I reccomend this game to everybirdie, and I promise you won't be disappointed in the good or bad ends.
