WINDS OF WAR UPDATE - REVIEW

I've returned to the game to be amazed. This game prior to this update was absolutely not worth a AAA+ price, however MFG have pulled it out of the bag and absolutely cooked with this update. The new combat outposts, PVP hot zones, side quests/tasks/dynamic missions, new guns, etc - the list goes on and honestly there's too many new features (both advertised, and not well advertised). I came into this update not realising how much had actually changed, and I'm in love, I'll happily play this through, even after completing tasks. MFG are trying their best to recuperate players from what was obviously a poor release, and they're making positive steps, listening to community feedback, this is now a good contender against BSG/EFT/ABI.

Ok. First of all, I've given this a thumbs down for ONE reason. When it's fixed, it gets a massive thumbs up and a more detailed review.

GAME CRASHES ON DMZ ARE HORRIFYING. Allow us to REJOIN the match, or fix that ♥♥♥♥ ASAP. It's truly gamebreaking taking keys etc into a match, only to crash and your team has to extract.

FIX IT.

This is an amazing game it's swallowed up a lot of my life with a lot of different servers to check out and explore, ranging from Roleplay servers to hardcore Military simulation.

The ArmA 3 community on the whole is great, however if you are looking for "Community spirit" when playing a Roleplay server such as the "Life" series, I'd go ahead and not even bother purchasing the game.

Otherwise, this is a very good game and I would reccomend this to anyone who has the spare time that it will consume.

This game is by far one of the best military simulators ever made - with a massive player base and hundreds of mods, including DayZ & Island Life, Bohemia have a cash cow here!

New Review DEC 2023: The leaps and bounds this game has made over five years is minimal. However, the game is solid. The modding community makes this game incredible. Bohemia being left to their own devices on it? Disappointing. It lacks CONTENT updates. Pushing updates with a new gun and some clothes is appalling. It gets a positive review purely based on the fact that modders keep this alive.

Old Review from 2018: Needs more updates, more like a running simulator, however a good laugh with friends after the tedious boring grind to get gear.
