This is a great game if you'd like to tap into the Yakuza franchise if you aren't interested in 0 and want to see what this franchise offers.

Soundtrack is fantastic! Nothing much to say since the audio team always hits the bullseye in every RGG game.

Side quests are very well written, comical, but few have missed the mark

Combat is the best of this game, very satisfying and well balanced (at least one style is.. the other not so much), encounter rates do get annoying, but there are items that help you lessen it. Not to mention upgrade system is quite straightforward... or not bother and go tiger drop your way through the game.

Story is very well written, everyone plays a big role and no character feels unnecessary. The side characters feels just as important and shine in the spotlight. My only annoyance is how there are good amount of fillers in the game that can break the pace of the story. Once passing it, game no longer adds any fillers which is great!

Gameplay (not combat) can get dull quickly, tailing, thumb turn pass (good lord this is the WORSE) and chasing are ALOT in this game with characters running around the block or being super sensitive if you breathe, thankfully it is toned down by alot in it's sequel, Yakuza Judgement. On the other hand, "Mario Party", Drone racing are one of the most enjoyable activities I have done in Yakuza games!

This game ? Go play it if this is your first time into a Yakuza game and would like to see what this series offers, although I suggest 0 first, but if that is not up your alley, this is a second best.
