really is an interactive TV show in the style of Invincible. The game doesn't really work without QTEs since the cutscenes slow down regardless whether you turn them on or off, so having them off feels weird. I like the story setup so far and I actually like the weekly releases. There's something to look forward to and you can play a little bit over time -- good for people with other commitments.

they released elden ring 2 and called it a dlc. 40 hours in and i still haven't finished the side content. rather close to endgame. those complaining about difficulty just need to get more scadutree fragments -- which is a brilliant mechanic imo to incentivize exploring. for 40 bucks hell yeah this is a worthwhile buy

Early Access Review
incredibly fun even in early access. it's the type of game where you have to enjoy the mechanics and create your own fun, though. if you can do that then it'll be very replayable. can't wait to see what the community does once modding / steam workshop support is added.

the story is the best one Bethesda has done in recent times (low bar, I know), but don't rush to the ending. the endgame will only be impactful if you take your time forming relationships with your companions and the factions in the universe. it's really hard to leave the universe behind after you've formed so many close bonds and done so much

it's also a damn good ending.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this game until now. At least now I have the privilege of making this review post Elden Ring, and even so, Sekiro remains Fromsoft's magnum opus. Every system in the game is tightly crafted, the bosses so well designed, and the levels so breathtaking, the music so spot-on, that nothing has topped this game as a package ever since. I don't think any will, at least until Sekiro 2 comes out.

The game speaks a lot about art -- the creative process, creators, and the interpretation of art. It made me sad as the game went along, and the stinger during the last chapter really hits you out of nowhere. If you're at all interested in art, and games as an artistic medium, get it, and play it in one setting.

There's really nothing more to say.
