I have been a fan of the Tide games since vermintide 2 and a fan of the warhammer 40k universe for far longer. So when Fatshark announced darktide I was super excited. Unfortunately, as has become the norm at this time, the game released buggy, broken, and worst of all boring. The environments were nice, the soundtrack was pretty good, and while it lacked the customized banter of Vermintide, the character customization combined with the ability to have more than one of each class in a match made up for it. But the core gameplay was severely lacking. More than a few of the classes just felt bad to play, and getting booted from the server every twenty minutes meant it just wasnt worth it. After this most recent update, I went back to darktide and I gotta say, its been really quite fun. The gameplay loop is fun and rewarding, mowing down the enemies feel great, and the greater emphasis that this game places on team cohesion is fantastic. While it might not be worth $40 just yet, its pretty darn close, and if you play it with friends its even better.

When I first saw Warframe, I immediately thought "oh great, another online shooter with an emphasis on multiplayer. That means I'll jump into the first level and immediately get wrecked by an end game charater who will immediately tea-bag my corpse." However, Warframe did none of that. It plays like Assassins Creed but with even more Parkour. The combat is so much more than just a Halo remaster or Destiny rip-off, with mobility those games can only dream of. And the best part, it is actually free to play. Most "free-to-play" games we all know really aren't free to play, but Warframe allows you to get
almost everything simply as you play the game. Even crafting, a mechaninc that can take weeks for endgame content in other games, only takes a few hours to three days for nearly everthing. Overall, my impression after only five days of playing is overwhelmingly positive. Thats how you know its a great game
